If I was dropped off at this store without knowing where I was, MB Reading would not be among my first guesses. It's just not the same store. A number of other ppl mentioned the lack of products. Maybe that's not their fault. I now shop at multiple places to get all I need. Prices also not their fault but wowza. There are a few things they could improve. Prices are missing on MANY items. When they are there they're often not visible. There's a better way to do that. When I got home and checked my receipt I was shocked by some of the prices. I would not have bought a few items that were way more expensive than I was aware. A lot of their employees don't speak or understand English. I taught ESL. I get it. But putting 2 ppl on a register who don't understand English is a worry. I now either bag my own stuff or supervise. Ppl who worked there used to be so helpful and pleasant. That's gone. Maybe it's the times? Whatever the case, I no longer go there because the staff is helpful. I don't know if all the issues they're having are a result of all that's gone on the last few years, but it feels like this is their new normal. I hope not.

Let’s start by saying I love Market Basket, and Reading has been my store. Now, I am not sure what is going on there these days. More than 60% of the merchandise is not priced. Although lots of employees, the majority are walking around on their cell phone texting. If you “interrupt” them to ask a question, they claim, “no English “. By the time you get to cashier, as I did yesterday, the bagger had my eggs on the bottom of bag, and cans on top. My bread was all squished by the time I got home. I bought tortilla chips but they were bagged with other canned goods, so I wound up with a bag of crumbs. None of this is just a one time occurrence. I will no longer go to Reading.

Convenient. Good selection of produce. Cashiers have never acknowledged me coming or going; a lot of chatting with each other. Baggers are good. Not sure if there is any supervision. If not for the location, I would be elsewhere.
