Good place to go while in Burlington. This place isn't an aquarium. It's a children's museum with a water theme. There's a lot of turtles and some fishes. We liked the 3D show and the demo/class teaching us about rat snakes. The children love the play areas where there are grocery store, cafe, water tables, boats. The grownups enjoyed sitting outside on the deck and enjoying views of the lake. And the soft serve ice cream outside was so good, try the orange flavor! Overall it was a great time for the children and lots of hands on learning to take advantage of.
Dragons Fire
Stopped in to pass some time before our flight. This is a great business to bring kids big and small. Lots of fun exhibits. They have short movies showing often, interactive experiences from natural ecosystems to IT. Their rotating exhibit was Dragons and Unicorns when we went. Very cool place and I highly recommend it.

On a road trip with my 9 year old son, we decided to stop here. So glad we did. This was fun for all ages! Great displays and hands on activities. Very educational and fun. AMAZING location and views of the lake. Lots of parking near by. At this time it was $3/hr. It a $5 lot. Great experience and I would HIGHLY recommend stopping here! Lots of animals.
Gravel Rider
Excellent kids' see and touch museum in a great location on Lake Champlain next to downtown Burlington. There are frogs, fish, science exhibits, areas to play, and friendly staff to help the kids learn. There is also a gift shop at the entrance, and a cinema, though it costs extra. It's a great way to spend a half a day or so with kids. I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Hi Milton, thanks for reaching out. We do accept EBT cards for $2 admission. Please note, we have limited capacity, hours, and days due to COVID-19. Our hours are Friday-Monday and Wednesday, 10-11:30 am, 12:30-2 pm, 2:30-4 pm. We ask most visitors to get their ticket online but in this case, just come to the Museum at the beginning of a time slot and show your card and we should be able to get you in. For more info about what to expect at the Museum, you can go here: https://www.echovermont.org/plan-your-visit/reopening-information/
This is a great place to take kids who enjoy seeing and learning about animals! There is a large aquarium exhibit featuring tons of different species of fish that can be found in the local area, as well as exhibits featuring reptiles and amphibians, including animal rehabilitation efforts. There's tons of exhibits where they can learn hands-on, as well!
I figure if a child likes or is into different sciences it could be fun for them.
I think so. My daughter (3 years old) and I (33 years old) enjoyed it equally as much. If they enjoy things like aquariums, they'll certainly enjoy ECHO.
Hi Connie, Our hours haven't changed for a while and are open daily, 10 am to 5 pm. Thanks for asking! You can also see more info on our website: http://www.echovermont.org
