I am now the owner of a 7-in aquatic turtle. I found out Brittany was the turtle specialist there because she has turtles and a tortoise of her own. She helped me with a new tank etc and gave me a lot of good pointers on how to take care of my new pet. Olive helped me today by doing a price comparison and showing me how to download the app so I can do that in the future. She saved me a lot of money today. They were both very nice, informative and helpful!

Paris at the aqua life department was awesome. She was so knowledgeable and helped us to set up our first fish tank. Store was clean and employees were nice and friendly.

We were approached by a nice guy that worked the register as well to ask if we needed help with anything. Outstanding customer service and everything was clean and in stock. Couldn't ask for much more at a Petco.

Abby, in the fish area was amazing. Abby was busy with another customer but she made sure to talk to me and let me know that she would be with me as soon as possible. She was very knowledgeable and helped me to find the right critters to go into my betta tank without making me feel dumb. I love my new snails! So very nice and sweet and I appreciated her input! Store is also kept very clean and animals are well taken care of.

How much to trim a dogs nails and do they take walk-ins?

Bruce Heckerman | Jul 27, 2018
Jeanette Herzog | Jul 28, 2018

It's $10 for a regular trim and $15 for a nail buff (gets them shorter and smooth). They do take walk ins but I would call if it's after 4 to confirm how long they will be there that day.

The groomer opens at 9, not 8 as the website says, so keep that in mind before you take your dog in for grooming.

You should probably have an appointment for grooming, she has gotten my dog in for nail trimming but it's better with an appointment.

Do Petco bathe cats and trim nails

Jonathan Jones | Jul 27, 2019

No they do not. Usually you have to go to a vet to get your cat groomed. The main reason why is it takes alot to have a liscense to groom a cat. Cats have tons of bacteria in their mouth ( they can not produce saliva so it is a symbiotic relationship with the bacteria). Unfortunately it makes cat bites almost always become infected, which is why you have to be liscensed and also have a cat only room ( since some dogs are "cat sensitive") . All of this to say, no they do not bathe/groom/trim cat nails. But if you contact your local vet, they usually have the option.

Hi, I have a cat that is matted above his tail. Do you do services to assist with this? He doesn't enjoy brushing so I'm worried about that. If you can help what would the cost be? He's very unhappy.

Unfortunately Petco does not have the ability to groom cats. However , most vets that offer dog grooming can do cats as well, so I would call your local vet and ask if they can do it.
