Two positive parts to the visit, first I was in and out in no time, second, the interface they use for the billing was very quick and the person I spoke with was very helpful with billing and account setup. She gets 5 stars. The reason I'm giving a 1 star is the Doctor and the medical care I was given. I had 2 lacerations one on my arm and one on my hand. Both should have had stitches, only my arm was given stitches and my hand keeps opening up and is now infected. My arm received 3 stitches and it should have received at least 5, one of the stitches came untied within a day. My arm is also opening back up and I am forced to start all over again with my primary care doctor to have this repaired and deal with the infection. On top of all this, the Doctor had a horrible bedside manner, I understand most doctors don't have a good bedside manner but this was the worst I have ever experienced. In retrospect, I would have been better off going to Lakewood Ranch Medical center to receive proper medical care and a better experience with more professional Doctors.

I have had two bad experiences in this Er. The first was last November when I brought my dad in for excessive bleeding and complications of cancer. The "dr" was horrible. I wish I knew his name but his picture is on the wall in the Er and he is darker skinned. He stood at the doorway with arms crossed and never ONCE assessed, touched, palpated the patient.( medical school 101) I had to twist his arm just to draw a cbc ( and shortly after the results were back, guess what? He was admitted for multiple blood transfusions. My dad could have died and this dr could have cared less. He was rude, uncaring and flat out awful in every way. Next visit was today for myself. The triage nurse was uncaring, cold, and had zero bedside manner. The nurse practitioner, John, who saw me today was amazing. The ONLY good thing in this hospital. Give this man a giant raise! The nurse who was supposed to be my nurse was hands down the worse nurse I have ever come across in my life and career. I have been in nursing/medicine for over 26 years. She should not be working as a nurse anywhere near patients. She was extremely cold, came in "angry at the world" never once assessed me, no vitals, no nothing. Argued with me as to why I was there. ( I think I would know! ) Left me waiting for hours in extreme pain. I refused to be treated in this manner so I asked John to discharge me immediately ( or I was walking out) and he did. I went down to my Dr office who took me in urgently and helped me. I wish I knew her name as well. Started with an "H" a foreign name with an unusual spelling. This hospital needs to clean house, improve patient relations and hire people who have graduated from reputable schools ( where they teach compassion, and real patient care) As it is - this is a treadmill of bad care, rude people for the most part and bad attitudes. I will drive out of my way NOT to go here ever again.

It was a very good experience, very efficient and takes less time than a traditional hospital ER. However, with the severe cut to my finger I wish they had provided a prescription for an antibiotic just as a precaution. The finger is very swollen after 6 days.

First impression at the ER was good, once admitted I discovered lies and rude people. I had similar experiences with other hospitals recently, it seems like since we have a medical shortage they can get away with everything. Unacceptable, the only to way to fight back are lawsuits. How long does it take in America to get an MRI done??? Why are we being misled for the last two days? Sure you want to bill the hell out of us for two days lost, I have bad news for you. I was able to get an MRI done in a day in a 3rd world country. This used to be a good hospital.

Yes you can be seen without insurance
I am still employed. I needed to transfer to Medicare when my 3 Month disability turned over to COBRA. I was of age to change to Medicare. I will be going back to work in August. As for my knee replacement my Blue Cross Blue Shield from employment covered all that. I was not on Medicare during the surgery. I'm sorry I cannot help you. You need to inquire with someone else who is permanently on Medicare.
You would call the hospital, ask for the department it's pretty obvious
