I am truly grateful for the help and services that I was provided by United Way of Lake and Sumter. I had been in a very abusiveRelationship and was in The Haven of Lake and Sumter I was without anywhere to go and no money I had my job and was paying for hotel room for me and my two daughters Age 2 & 4 Luckily I was blessed with an affordable apartment at The Crossings of Leesburg in which I did not have the funds for as far as the deposit, prorated rent, 1st months rent luckily my kids daycare ( Harley's Angels) had an amazing angel who's child went there who worked at United way and was informed of my situation and was able to pay for everything I couldn't be any more blessedthank you so much to Nasheka and her wonderful team at United ways of leesburg

Hello Nancy, we have a VITA program in which anyone with an income below $67,500 with no income from freelance entities (Lyft, Uber, etc) can qualify to have their taxes prepared and submitted at no cost. Age is not a factor and these services begin on Jan. 31 from our Leesburg office and two additional locations (Four Corners and Sumterville) in Lake and Sumter Counties. Mr. Lloyd, thank you for your question. Depending on your location, Langley Health Services is an exceptional option for Sumter and surrounding counties. They are located in Sumterville. Also, if you are a Veteran, please reach out to our Mission United program as there are VA resources, as well as Community Care options, for Veterans needing dental services. In both cases, being a senior citizen is not required, but is certainly part of their customer population.
Can you tell us a bit more about what type of services and equipment you're seeking?
Hello Mr. Haywood. We do not have a women's shelter. Closest one would be The Haven. Find, Feed, and Restore is also an option with an upcoming project they are working on with DV victim housing. Hope that helps!
