$1125.00 and 3 days later, still haven't heard about my dogs x-rays. Symptoms were sudden vomiting, not eating as much, weight loss, we thought he had a blockage, took him there because our vet was booked.. This place gave him antibiotics and recommended $3-4k exploratory surgery in Akron for "possible" liver disease. Without the x-rays! My husband called after 5 days to get the $345 back for the x-rays we paid for but never got results from. They reimbursed $200 out of 1125. They never even called to check on my pet. Terrible business that apparently only cares about money. Years ago they were so much better! Update: my dog is currently at our normal vet undergoing surgery for what my husband and I initially thought. He ate something that punctured his stomach. Which gave him an infection and elevated his liver levels. So after new blood work and x-rays (that we got back within 30 minutes) proves all $1125, our time, and possibly my dogs health; completely wasted at medvet.

This is not my first go around with this clinic and their lack of empathy. My first experience was during Covid and I was forced to say goodbye to my beloved pet of 16 years through a glass window because they refused to let me in. It was of course the weekend and he could not wait until Monday to be taken to our vet. Once again, on today’s visit things felt very uncaring. I brought my dog in for possible poisoning and when I called their number from the parking lot ( still not allowed to enter upon arrival ) they instructed me that I needed to call poison control first to get a referral number. That phone call itself was a $75 charge from poison control and if I would have had them call they said it would Be an additional charge to make that call. Before I placed the call I asked her about the $75 charge and she said that was correct and to just walk in the clinic before anything would be done was $189. It’s all about the money. No compassion. No urgency. No one even attempted to come out to assess the situation to see if it was urgent or immediate. I guess since they are no longer emergency care there is no longer any urgency. Even when the parking lot was filling up at 15 minutes before open and the girl put the sign out, there was still no urgency to answer phones until exact opening time. Would never go here again in an emergency situation! My advice is to find a good alternative now before you would ever need it and here’s hoping you don’t!

I had to take my fur baby in because we thought she had a bone stuck in her throat. While it was costly and timely, I would have done anything and everything for my Rosie girl. While waiting there , I decided to go online and read more about this place and I won't lie, I got scared and thought for sure my baby wasn't walking out alive... I had the exact opposite experience. I'm pretty new to the area and everywhere I called to try to get her in couldn't! So, I traveled like 38 minutes to get here. They were beyond amazing with trying to keep me informed . I chose to wait on my baby the whole time she was in there and I can gurantee you that even though the parking lot isn't full , they are extremely busy ! I really can't say anything bad about my experience itself here ! The prices are steep but you do have to think, they are emergency/urgent care ! I would say that in case of an emergency, I would bring my baby back here ! The staff was very friendly and informative. I even had calls from the doctor. They sent me home with all the things I would need for aftercare as well ! Also, side note, they have even called me to check on my Rosie girl since leaving!

I've taken both of my dogs here a few times and have had good service. Very expensive, but good. Since they've become an urgent care, as opposed to the emergency care they used to be, they've dropped in quality. My dog recently had a mast cell tumor removed. The incision opened up over the holiday weekend and appeared to be getting infected. Despite saying they were open, they were not treating pets. They told me that they would not see my dog and that if I did show up, they would turn me away. This is terrible service. I'll be asking my vet for other options for emergency care for my pets. If I'm going to pay emergency care prices, I expect good service. MedVet Mahoning Valley is no longer able to provide good service.

$125 Is the emergency exam fee regardless of species (Dog or cat) or breed. Then an estimate is given by the doctor for diagnostics and treatments.
