Hi Mecy, Routine maintenance can mean the difference between prolonging the life of your HVAC system and replacing it years earlier than planned. At a minimum, filters should be changed every 3 months (or less if you have pets or other allergens in your home), and a professional maintenance check should be done prior to the start of each season in order to ensure everything is in working order.
