It's good to know there is a lifeline out there. Fairly well organized. Sometimes there's a lot, Sometimes not so much, but you will not leave empty.

This facility is like heaven to me. I was in great need for food and supplies since 8 was on maternity leave. EBT denied/ineligible my application due to my husband (only one working and providing) was making too much. Remind you we still have rent, car payments, insurance, gas, phone, medical bills, baby supplies and food all need to be covered and his paychecks alone does not cover all expenses. I was depressed, anxious, crying not knowing how to get through and sacrificing some things. This place had enough food and some items I needed for myself and baby and enough to help put food on the table. Especially for me since I'm breast feeding only. The staff are all friendly, supportive, nice, helpful and everything I could describe which is simply not enough. The building is well kept and clean. I recommend anyone who is struggling with food shortage in providing themselves, family including children of all ages. This is the place to go too. There is no judgement, just understanding and giving extra help and support. Now I'm one worry away, knowing I can go to this place and get food and supplies I need to provide my family.

They have the nicest people, volunteering. Check it out! If you need food, if you know someone who needs food, or if you just want some fresh fruit and veggies, but you are on a tight budget. That is why they are there. Don't let the good food go to waste. Tell any and everyone you know. Its and oasis in the middle of Vacaville.

I am not sure, but I believe they are giving out food as usual. If the food is oriented to the Thanksgiving theme I am not sure; I think that will be a goal.
I believe at this point in time, clothing is donated to the Opportunity House Thrift Store. It is located on 107 Peabody Rd, Vacaville, CA 95687. There are projects in the near future works for a Storehouse which incorporates food and other needed donations.
Volunteering does require an application as you are allowing TFH to conduct a background check. Food is given free of charge. New clients are required to fill out an application and provide verification of residency in Vacaville (government issued ID card, utility bill, etc.). Assistance is also available for any homeless persons in the area.
The Storehouse is owned and operated by a local church called The Fathers House. M, Th & Fri 10am-12 noon M 6pm-7pm ACTIVE MILITARY ONLY (bring I.D.) Tues 4pm-6pm Wed, Sat & Sun CLOSED
Would this be for Thanksgiving? To be on the safe side, inquire with the front desk starting in September to find out the exact timeframe for sign ups. If you wait until mid-November it is too late. Your name needs to be added to the list in advance.
