Not sure they know what they’re doing. Went to mass on Christmas Day in this beautiful and well maintained church. There were maybe less than 30 worshippers in attendance. Seating could have been restricted to the front third of the pews and those in attendance would still have been spaced far in excess of what is required for covid. And you might have been able to hear each other pray. As it was the 30 people were scattered throughout the grand hall so there was no way a sense of community could possibly develop. Had they done that, you still wouldn’t have been able to hear anyone sing as the organist did everything he could to smother the spirit of those in attendance by playing and singing as loud as possible. Finally, the sermon was not spoken but read as though someone was afraid that the priest might say something improper, so they required him to read from an approved text. As I’m perfectly capable of reading myself, they might as well have handed out a flyer for me to take home after mass. There was nothing of this service that expressed the joy of Christmas but the décor…and the malls do that a whole lot better…as though Christmas means more to them. It’s true, you do not go to church for the décor…and you do not need to go to church to pray…but you do go for fellowship and on Christmas you go to celebrate with alleluias and glorias and joy to the world. Just wasn’t happening in this one. In spite of all that, I was grateful to be at mass that morning. Somehow the spirit managed to sneak through it all and into my heart.

I’m a volunteer to the Chruch, I serve as Eucharistic Minister, also a Lector, there are times that unintentional mistake happened, I heard negative comments. But I was thinking that I’m serving for the Lord, not the peoples with negative thinking. I don’t think God get mad, if I did some minor mistake. and I learn from that mistakes. Father Eugene, and Father Cameron, are so nice and kind enough to understand all their parishioners. I love our Chruch, Epiphany. God Bless us all.

I live this holy place of worship. It's beautiful inside and out. The parish office has a nice lady who works in there

One of the early San Francisco parish churches, with parochial school taught by nuns for much of it's history. A very much loved church, school and San Francisco working class neighborhood.
