I have to say I was a regular blood donater, I also did plasma and platelets too but due to a bad experience I wasn't going to go back. Here's the experience, It was 3-4 years ago, I walked in, everything was going well until I was helped with a new person, of all my years going there I haven't seen this blonde lady before. I'm not talking about the one with glasses (not the one at the front desk, she's super nice) I'm talking about one of the helpers who take you into the room. Anyways the issue was when she gestured her arms downward, insisting to see if I have any drug injected into my arms. I was shocked. Of all my years going there I have no one asking for that and I've got tattoos. I was obviously stereotyped and discrimated. It was a disappointment and a shame after all those years I've been treated poorly. I will never be back but hey, times may change right now. That person may already be transferring to another place but one mistake costs everything.

Aloha! Friendly and helpful staff. Love to help and donate our blood and time. Lots of people needs help. We all should try. This place is one of the best.

First, to one of the other reviewers, you aren't supposed to get paid for this. It's a DONATION. The phlebotomists are always nice and friendly and, surprisingly, remember your name. They are good people who are doing a difficult but wonderful job, and I get sick and can't donate platelets (like most of this month), I feel like I'm letting down our team. That's part of why I love this place - they make you feel as if you're part of a team. The Red Cross does great work when and where it's needed most. Go and donate.
