Beautiful camp ground. Small, the campsites are really close together. I would recommend a connector where you don't have to try and back up if you miss your campsite turn and you can have complete access to both parts. Camp host was super nice.

Some spots are small and slope downhill badly. Nice small laid-back Park, well kept. Not much for kiddos to do. Lake is more the size of a large pond. LOL

Our, family enjoy camping at Mr. Gilead State Park. Nice clean facilities, staff was great. Nice lake to go fishing and kayaking in. Also nice hiking trails to. Playground for children to enjoy as well. Pet friendly to. Location of the camp ground, easy to access. Very small camp sites. Beautiful area to enjoy, will go back, in the future.

Questions & Answers

Do they have/allow Tent Camping? I have tried to call to find out, I've even left a voicemail and have not received an answer.

Yes, but all camping in the state park system is reservation only right now. Go to reserveohio.com and be sure to select that you want to camp with a tent, and it will show you all your options across the state park system, including at Mt. Gilead.

I'd check with their toll-free number. I thought the campground was open all year but could be mistaken.

How much are the rates for camping

Not sure of your age but if you are of senior age get a Goleen Buckeye card. It lowers the rate to half Monday through Thursday; Friday through Sunday it's a 10% discount. Otherwise I don't recall the rates. I'd surmise the rates are much cheaper than non-state parks.
