I like the Russian River RV Campground. Gate code in the email check in was not correct. Had to call the Ranger for the correct gate code. RV pads were in good shape and clean. RV sites are first come first served basis. So, you need to drive around to look for open spots. I was in section A. I would give it 5 stars but the men's bathroom in section A was locked and not operational. I did hike up to the B section and the men's bathroom was open. But the next morning (Sunday) both section A and B men's bathrooms were locked due to maintenance issues. There is no sewer hookup at the individual RV sites but a dump station available on the way out. I would come back again since it is a nice RV campground and close to other attractions in the area. You are right next to the Russian River which was low this time of year.

We are in spots 10 & 11 and it is beautiful. The men's bathroom is locked up close to our site so that's the only downfall so far.

Self checkin, packet at gate house, with gate code. The rules suggest picking a site that is sized for your rig. There are several marked to accommodate 45' rigs. The ranger said there were plenty of open sites, did not offer any suggestions of where to look. Drove to the back, 1 pull thru, but I was facing the wrong way. Drove back to C loop, saw a couple open. Attempted back in, fail. Checked map, tent site. Moved back to pull through. I'm sure I passed over several good sites. I didn't use the restroom. When walking park seemed clean of trash. Easy access off the 101.

Coming into this Thousand Trails campground made us a little nervous at first. Coming off of the highway there are broken down campers and RV encampments along the road. None of it interfered with the campground itself though. Check-in was easy but the entrance is a bit tight for bigger rigs. If you have a larger rig be very conscious of where the spots are that allow for them. Ask at the ranger office for the list of ones they should have open. Drive extremely slow. Roads and turns are very narrow. Some spots are inclined in a way that your hind end may really scrape the ground/asphalt. There are grooves in the road everywhere it is common. Spaces are all 30 amp with no sewer hookups. Many spaces are very narrow/tight and uphill from your neighbor. The asphalt of many spots is crumbling along the edges and the dirt eroding away. If you have stairs that come out a ways they may just end at a cliff. Facilities are all in desperate need of updates and in a state of disrepair. Bathroom walls were falling off. Laundry is outdoors which I found extremely odd. All-in-all the park just seemed quite rough. There's really nothing to do in the area either. We stayed for 10 days which we felt was WAY too long.

Thousandtrails.com, this is a private campground, but open to the public.
About 2.5 - 3 hours I believe
Yes
Did not see any signs for rentals. We brought ours, had a lot of fun.
too much. this place sucks
First come first serve of course. No sewer. Depending on your size the park is trying to reserve sites for larger RV's. I think the Rangers are good at helping you. I would call the ranger station and tell them what you need.
Im here now, and ive seen a few gas fire pits. As long as you maintain and keep control of it. No wood fires aloud though.
It's great for dogs. Mine was taught to swim in the river. She loves it. But they have many Farrel cats. And if your dog eats one they treat it as a capital crime. Keep yours on leash till you are on the beach. Witch is more gravel and head size Boulder than Beach
There is no day-use fee if you're a member.... And if I'm not mistaken did they use for use 10 or $15
T-Mobile was ok
Theres lots of places that would be nice to use an ATV but most would be private property , water district , county, or state. Getting harder to roam freely in open lands, that is if you follow all rules and signs. lol.
The cottages are well supplied w/linens and really thin pillows...id suggest bring your own
I have Verizon and it worked but was sketchy depending on where you were.
This particular RV CG [Russian River] is a Thousand Trails Resort. And they have private memberships you can get through Thousand Trails [a zone pass may work for you] With that said, some Thousand Trails CGs open up to the public. You Will need to call the park directly. As mentioned before, Good Sam's gets you discounts at some CGs. Also consider Passport America and AAA. I recommend you plan a rough draft intinarry and then you can determine what will work best for you. On a side note, I have all of them [I am full timer], and my go to is AAA, it seems to get me the same discount as the rest, even when not listed. I just ask them. If you were doing more than 5 wks. I would suggest other solutions
Some memberships are out of TTN altogether and others are just out of that campground; both types are for 7 days.
What cat sad but I believe it's more on the weekends as well as seasonal pricing the best thing to do is call and check
