Unique in its design but the area has been let go, lots of graffiti - which I love if it’s artistic but in this case, not so much. It’s now fenced off so you can’t get a decent view.

This place is pretty neat. I am not sure if it is still open for people to go visit though. The street art isn't all that good, but still pretty awesome to see something like this right here in the heart of the city.

Doing your research on this place helps knowing what to expect! I did know this had been graffitied but wanted to see it anyway! I think the graffit gives this castle uniqueness & charisma! Brings a new life to the history! Very cool to walk through the different passes & doors! Makes for some awesome backdrops for pictures

I had a very good time and took lots of pics here, Kansas City Workhouse. There was no interruption and for free. One of landmarks in KCMO. I’m not sure here is where you want to go but mysterious place and cool graffitis will await you. Let’s take ‘em all! Enjoy!

Is there security around the premises like if I want to go at night

Mallory Bergeron | Jul 24, 2019

No, there is no security and I wouldn't recommend going at night. I have seen drug use there and questionable activity in cars that pull in. The area is littered with debris and concrete in disrepair. You could easily injure yourself if you make a misstep. Having said all of that, I know that people do go at night. Use caution.
