Super friendly, fast and knowledgeable service at Commune. Started filling up at 9:30 on a Saturday, so be prepared to wait if you aren’t early. Pickle board was huge and amazing, crispy potato bowl (plus brisket!) was amazingly filling. Highly recommend.

I actually really love Commune, but mostly for the vibes, staff, and farm-to-table set up. A good spot to hang out and do work with some coffee and nibbles. They have GREAT customer service too. But the food itself is alright at best. Some things are good: their cocktails, their brisket, their eggs. But otherwise, there's a distinct lack of flavor. I got one of the bowls last time and it was really disappointing (chicken was so bland, unseasoned rice -- but the veggies and pesto were good!). My husband had a burger that was very dry. My gin cocktail was amazing though!! So just be concious of what you order and don't be afraid to be specific about what you want. Ask the staff their opinions too! Commune is a staple in downtown Norfolk but because I love it, I gotta be honest.

Food is always incredible as well as really healthy. They make the hummus in house and their bowls are amazing. The kale Caesar salad is also delicious. The cocktails, iced coffee, and other drinks are great too. And the staff is always friendly and quick to get to your table. I've become a regular within a month!

My wife and I got married at Commune. It was absolutely incredible. The food was amazing, the staff was so helpful and friendly, and the cost was incredibly reasonable. I'd highly highly recommend them if you are looking for a medium sized wedding venue with delicious in house food!
