We loved our stay at this campground. We had a shaded spot and had plenty of room on both sides of our camper. The lake was a short walk from our spot and even with the campground being fairly full, it never felt busy. The pool was never too crowded and there was a nice little store on site with very reasonably priced snacks and camping items. There was Food Lion and some restaurants that were within a 10 minute drive. Overall the campground was very peaceful and we would definitely come again.

This place is so so beautiful It’s really in the middle of nature. the staff was really nice! we had a really bad Internet connection but in the lounge the Internet was ok enough for my husband to work. by the lake there is a shuffleboard game and golf games (and the pool that just opened the day we left) The only con for us was that it was kind of in the middle of nowhere,so if we wanted to get anywhere we had to drive for a while, but still it’s so lovely that it’s worth it, we'd love to come back again

As members of Thousand Trails, we'd made reservations ahead of time for full hook-ups. When we checked in, we were sent to site 211. Someone had just pulled into it and hadn't told the office, meaning they didn't have reservations...they just showed up and took an open space. I had stayed up until midnight 60 days in advance in order to follow the rules that Thousand Trails spells out online. We didn't fit anywhere else with our 42' fifth wheel and truck, that had full hook-ups. We were taken to site 124 on the other side of the park, and it had only water and electricity. We were going to be there for 12 days. We were told that a honey wagon could be ordered for M, W, and F for $10 each time, and call ahead by one day to reserve. Jennifer, the office manager, was very kind but quick to explain that Thousand Trails does not guarantee anything regarding which space you will get when you get there. I understand first come, first served, and that's why we drove at break-neck speed from our last RV park to get to Lake Gaston. However I don't understand someone who doesn't even have a reservation being able to hijack my full hook-up reservation. It's not right, no matter how you slice it. It ended up okay. We were on the side of the park with mainly full-timers or actually people who weekend at the lake. Tons of RVs there through the week with no one in attendance, and then boom. The weekend finds all of the RVs full of campers. Our site 124 was one of the largest in the park. It was close to the little store, the beach, boat dock, and most of all - the ice cream. We ordered the honey wagon, used the bathrooms, did laundry, etc. We had a great 12 days. It was super quiet during the week, and then pretty loud on the weekends. Partiers directly across from us were very loud, drunk, obnoxious, and had the yappiest loudest most shrill barking dog till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays that we've encountered in 5 months of full-time RVing. They were the only drawback to any of it. Even with the drawbacks, I'm still giving this park a 5-star because we enjoyed the beauty of it all so much. We will be back someday.

Beautiful "away from it all feel". A gem near a tiny town, Littleton NC. Mini golf, outdoor pool, places to grill, spaces for traveling campers and even permanent on site campers / camping homes. The staff here are so friendly, very courteous and always happy to help! Got kiddos? In the common area there's a large screen tv, a PLETHORA of puzzles and books. Got fisher family? The Gaston Lake here in NC has Crappie, Bass and more...really great fishing here! Yes, you need a fishing license but not to fear...they sell them here. The decor is whimsy-natural and, well, campy! Come on out everybody! It's such a nice place to enjoy! Call and chat with Jennifer or Rosemary...they will guide and delight you with their know- how. First Come, First Served Resort. Call right now! Enjoy!!!

You can but they are not open year round. This past weekend was officially closing weekend to the public. The weekend before Thanksgiving is closing weekend this year to annuals. In the past has been the weekend after Thanksgiving. Reopen either last weekend in March or first weekend in April depending on weather.
I just left from Lake Gaston 2 wks ago...I also have AT&T and was unable to connect using my hotspot...I had to walk down by the lake in order to get a signal on my phone.
No. There is no cabin rentals.
Not sure if they have availability but the do have annual sites
