We live about 4 hours away from Kentucky Down Under and it was a perfect day trip. Absolutely worth while and memorable! Feeding and petting the kangaroos was a wonderful experience for myself and my kids. The Land of Lorries was also so fun, with bird flying all around and landing wherever they want- include on top of heads. The cave tour was short, but beautiful. Gift shop had a great selection! Also loved all of the amazing wood carvings throughout the entire park! Overall wonderful place for kids and adults alike!

We had a group of 11, made reservations online for a golf cart and believe me with the steep hills and wonderfully spaced out exhibit areas it's a must. We went to celebrate my Granddaughter’s 10th birthday and Mother's Day. The ages in our group ranged from 10-63, a very diverse group and the 15 yr old loved it as did the late teens early 20s did. The adults as well it was a fun experience for all of us. All the staff was friendly and patient with all the questions asked. Everything to me was fairly priced. The gift shop was nicely equipped, the fudge is wonderful. The cave tour was short but very interesting. There is a staircase and Steep 44 steps coming back up. If you have knee problems you might want to rethink going but that's up to you. The price of the cave is included in your ticket. Go if you can you won't be sorry. The pricing is great.

This place was a riot, kids (16 twins and 5 year old) had a blast. Did not break the bank and where else can you feed and touch kangaroos who are freely hopping about. We would like to return. Staff is friendly and we also went on a 30 minute mammoth Onyx cave tour which was nice overall well worth the time and cost!

Oh my goodness! My family had so much fun here while vacationing in Cave City, KY. We were able to take a quick cave tour with a very entertaining tour guide. We got to see and interact with many exotic animals. And, they had two great gifts shops. Our favorite two activities were the sheep herding and feeding the kangaroos. The gal with the sheep was so knowledgeable about the sheep and dogs and was so impressive to watch. The kangaroos were so friendly and SOFT!!! I could have stayed in with them all day. This was the most fun interaction with animals I have ever had! There are no time limits once you are inside the park so you can take your time to explore the park. They even have golf cart rentals for families who would like to visit the park in extreme comfort or for those who aren't able to get around the large park by walking. This place is fantastic. I highly recommend a visit here for people of all ages!

They recently expanded trails and removed obstacles so it is more friendly to handicap and stroller access. You should have no problem except as stated above with the cave tours.
Three and under are FREE.
Rent a golf cart. Well worth the money to maneuver the hills.
We are very protective of our animals and make sure that their habitats are clean and that they have good diets of food. Each of our animals have their own unique personalities and our staff and zoo keepers become quite attached to them.
The park is dog friendly. We prefer that your dog be on a leash. You can not take your dog in the interactive exhibits (Kangaroo Outback & Land of the Lories) for the safety of your dog and our animals.
4 Passenger - $29.95 Lifted - $39.95 6 Passenger - $49.95 https://www.kentuckydownunder.com/golf-cart-rental
It could get a bit muddy where the kangaroos are, everything is outside. A dry day would be better.
We do rent golf carts at KDU. There is an initial incline coming into the park and the zoo is spread out over about 20 acres. Therefore, there is a lot of walking between animal exhibits. Golf carts make it easier if you have young kids, elderly guests, or guests with physical limitations. Golf carts rent as follows: 4-seater is $34.95 and the 6-seater is $52.95. You can reserve a golf cart one day in advance of your visit by calling the Ticket Office at (270) 786-1010. We ask that you be at the park between 9 am and 10 am to pick up your reserved golf cart.
