Stopped into Hayward Tools yesterday! So glad I did! Easy to find, plenty of parking & Nancy was the greatest to work with. The personalized service that you get from someone who has been in the business for many years is second to none! Great selection & found what I was looking for right away with their great customer service! Highly recommend this place to all Bay Area residents!

I went in looking to add power tools to my collection. I try to support small business owners and I believe that this is a privately owned small business. I spent about 5 mins looking at their outdated and overpriced power tools. Then a older man said from across the room “what are you looking for?”. I said that I wasn’t sure yet. Then he became very rude and told me that I am not allowed to browse the store. The 2 other employees that were around didn’t even look up, leading me to believe that this was a regular occurrence and that this man (manager?/owner?) did this often to many customers. I’ll never return to this store, even if I am desperate for a tool. I myself am a small business owner and I can’t imagine what would go on in someone’s head to speak to a customer this way.

Simple--They have the biggest selection of tools in the East Bay. They have specialty tools you never imagined existed. They have tools you have only seen in catalogues or on line. They have real, substantial stationary tools. Prices--Not as bad as you might guess, although if you can find the same tool at Home Depot or Lowes, it will be cheaper, perhaps substantially cheaper. But then, 80% of the tools at Hayward Tool cannot be found in any Home Depot or Lowes, or Ace or True Value. I wanted a simple large end nipper, not a one at any other store I checked, they had a dozen different types to choose from at Hayward Tools.
