This is a hard review for me. I want to like this place. The food was good. The waitress was very nice. The drinks were very good. The downside is it was expensive for the amount of food. Maybe it is because there is little to no competition in the area but the bill is something I would have expected from a higher tier place. Portions were good but not generous. When we ordered on 2 items we weren't ask what size they just assumed we wanted the large size which we didn't. Better communication could have been had on both sides. Overall it was a good experience until the bill. Again maybe that is because of the area and lack of competition.

Good food and tall mugs for those times you need to get away from your family before you do something rash. Good atmosphere and attentive waitstaff. I would definitely go back if I lived within driving distance.

We were in town visiting family so we stopped by Sofia’s for some dinner. We had been here years ago, so we thought we would try it again. They seemed short staffed. Three staff for the whole restaurant. But we were seated quickly and provided with chips and salsa. Salsa was a little thin and cold. I prefer chunky and warm. Portions were small. Wife ordered her typical steak fajita salad. She commented that flavor and taste were good, but portion was also small. Although price was $1 higher than we typical pay for that dish. I ordered a Kiki’s plate. A large deep fried tortilla stuffed with grilled shrimp, steak, chicken and chorizo, then covered with quest. Portion size was good, flavor was excellent. Although price was a little high to not include rice and beans. Service was a little slow but I think they were doing the best they could. Overall, good food, little pricey but left with a full belly.

Great restaurant! We drive from Athens to eat here because we like it so much. The fajitas are so good. My kids can be a little picky, but even they love it here. Friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere. I think it's the best Mexican restaurant in North Alabama.
