We always loved coming here pre-Covid and were delighted with a great dinner tonight! They remodeled, and the atmosphere is really inviting. The food is good, fantastic and friendly service. We will be back!

Went there with a group. Immediately told no split check and automatic 18% gratuity. One would think the service would be good? Think again. Took a long time to order and get the food out. Food was warm despite hot plate. Had to ask to have my iced tea repeatedly filled as well the tea had a weird taste. The food was ok. Super thick layer of cheese over the refried beans, enchilada was ok, barely any sauce, the taco soggy maybe only two bites before it completely separated. The rice was hard and unremarkable. If I wasn't meeting friends there, I'd not have gone. I've been to la capilla years before I don't remember it being like this or maybe the other places I've been to have stepped up their game.

Update: We've been back to this restaurant a few times with extended family and a couple of times following that occasion. Ever since the owner is no longer working shifts to fill in the labor shortage, the service has drastically changed. So have the prices. Let's put it this way-- after a few visits, $23 for two shrimp tacos is absurd... especially since it's basically cabbage and shrimp in a tortilla. I understand inflation, of course, but in this case, why gouge when we're all feeling it? Competitors in the area do not come close to these price points for basically the same things. Anyway combine the outrageous prices with less than acceptable service on three consecutive occasions, I'll go somewhere else. Lost a few stars 🌟 Sorry guys. ---------- Original review: Large property that captures the flavor of Mexico-- and delivers it. The food was great (all sodium restrictions aside because, well, it's Mexican food) Excellent and diverse menu choices. You can tell a great Mexican restaurant often from their salsa... excellent to the point of blowing my diet with the warm chips. (Oh the salt but it goes with the territory) Great seafood entrees. I ordered the shrimp with a light sauce that included mushrooms and olives, which added an interesting twist to the usual. It was perfect except well, too much salt. My son had a two combo plate of a shredded beef taco and chili relleno... good Lord. Looked and smelled delicious and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Triple bypass on a plate. I don't do dairy or meat other than fish so I lived vicariously through that plate of what would be bad news for me if I indulged. Both entrées were delicious. I did indulge in their jalapeño skinny margarita. Fresh lime, but too sweet (no salt of course) My son enjoyed that gorgeous fat slice if cheesecake. Few negatives but I felt sad to discover our server was actually one of the owners of the restaurant who needed to fill in thanks to labor shortages. He was kind, attentive and the food turnaround was very fast. Support your locals and go here rather than some chain. This is good Mexican food, hospitality and an experience that will certainly bring me back.

I like the place but the food it’s not good, I think it’s cooked with lard because the taste. My evening was ruined because I was looking forward to get authentic Mexican food, without lard, also the chips where almost stale or probably they didn’t change the oil or where cooked with lard. Definitely never going back. The michelada was good, the place was nice. But the main reason which is the food it’s not good. I hope they change the way they cook because I even feel back writing this.

Happy hour monday through Friday from 3 to 6 and the tacos are soo good drinks are on special to
Ohh they are pretty loose practices.not to formal just wear your maskie until you sit down in your boothie.sometimes the chefs blow their noses on the tortillas but I dont think they have covid so its no big deal.
Yes they have a large banquet room that can accommodate big functions
Sometime between wen they open and close but im not positive I would call first..3-6sorry
Last I was there 3 -7 p.m still might want to call first to double check. The Happy hour Tacos are Great Shredded Beef and they sometimes come with a free case of the squirts that lasted 3 - 4 days I received at both the Huntington Beach and the Cerritos Locations absolutely free didn't even have to ask for a side of food poisoning it's a random give away and depends on whether or not the prep guy drank to much the night before and who's hangover helps him to forget washing his hands after using the bathroom.
