We highly recommend My Insulation Guy. For a very reasonable price, we had our old fiberglass insulation pulled out and new cellulose put in. The owner, Jesse, and his crew were prompt, friendly, professional, and most importantly honest people. Two well known HVAC companies said that we needed new ductwork because it had holes from rats. Jesse's crew went up there and told me that it looked fine and to save my money. My electrician further confirmed that the ductwork was fine. He also commented on how My Insulation Guy injected foam in all the crevices. He said he had never seen anything like it. My wife and I truly appreciate these guys and will use them as long as we own this home.

Jesse and his crew ( Matt, Justin and Corry) did an amazing job in our house. I hired My Insulation Guy based off a recommendation from my mom to replace old insulation and air ducts. Not only did they replace the insulation and air ducts but they sealed off any openings we had and fixed a bathroom fan for my husband. They definitely went above and beyond to ensure that our attic was safe and clean for when we move in to the house. Throughout the entire process they kept us in the loop with what was going on with pictures and texts (which I will post below)and showed up on time to complete the task. I couldn’t have asked for a more reliable and trustworthy team . I could tell they had integrity with the job they were doing and I felt very well taken care of.

I finally found an honest and professional company who told me exactly what my house needed and didn't just take the job to make money off me. Jesse answered all of my questions and guided me on what to do to complete the attic insulation job on my house. Definitely recommend My Insulation Guy just for his honesty & great communication throughout the process.

Today we had Jesse and his amazing team, install R50 Attic insulation. Jesse was wonderful to work with, answered all my calls and questions promptly, and was able to schedule us very quickly. His pricing is excellent and the process was easy with little disturbance. They vacuumed and really cleaned up afterwards, (which is rare I find). Everyone followed Covid safety measures. I would definitely recommend “The Insulation guy” if you are looking to add insulation and save some money on your cooling costs and keep your rooms comfortable.

Yes I am licensed, bonded, insured for any property damage and my employees carry worker's compensation. It is good to verify whether a company is a licensed insulation contractor. You can do that going to the Contractor's State License Board (CSLB) website and search by company name or license number. My license number is 1049977.
If your attic contains very old insulation, trash leftover the years by various contractors, or it is unsanitary due to rodent infestation, then yes I recommend attic cleaning. We start by removing the old, contaminated insulation, then vacuuming the entire attic. Afterwards, we sanitize the attic to decontaminate it. Many customers notice their house no longer has such a disdainful odor once the attic is cleaned.
Radiant barrier is installed on the ceiling and walls of the attic. The barrier consist of a highly reflective material that reflects 97% of radiant heat rather than absorbing it. It is primarily to reduce summer heat gain and reduce cooling costs. Imagine putting a huge umbrella over your house in the summer to cool down the attic and thus the living space of your home. That is what radiant barrier accomplishes.
Rodent proofing and rodent exclusion mean the same task. Every home suffers from builders' defects, in which there are gaps or unsealed areas of the attic. This allows rodents, birds and other critters to enter your attic. Rodents can cause a lot of expensive damage. They cause the insulation to become unsanitary through deceased rodents decomposing and live ones urinating and leaving droppings. Rats can also chew electrical wires and ducts. Rodent proofing your attic will protect your attic.
It is always recommended to remove insulation if the material has become damaged from smoke, water or rodent infestation. Just removing the insulation is one step. The attic floor must also be vacuumed by a high power vacuum system to ensure all particles of damaged insulation is removed.
Unfortunately most homes are built with fiberglass batts and yes that is highly flammable. For that reason I specialize in blown cellulose insulation, which is fire retardant. Having a few minutes more in the event of a fire in the attic is priceless when it comes to your family's safety.
Because AC heating and cooling costs is typically every homeowner's largest monthly bill, reducing the usage of your AC system will save you money month after month. And because you are using your system less, it will last longer, saving you money there as well. Most importantly, attic insulation will make your home much more comfortable... and that is priceless.
Every attic comes with its own surprise, as I've learned. Some attics have very little insulation to remove, while others have several kinds of different type of insulation, layer after layer. Then add in roofing debris and the process is slowed down even more. That is why hiring an experienced insulation contractor is important, someone who has dealt with every type of surprise. Most attics 2000 sqft or less can be cleaned out in 4 to 8 hours. Attics more than 2000 sqft will be spread out into two days of work.
Attic insulation is a thermally resistant barrier, which is where you get the "R" in R-value. It restrains the migration of thermic energy into and out of the residence. More simply put, it blocks heat from entering the home in the summer and holds heat in during the winter; keeping your house temperature comfortable and affordable.
Most attic insulation projects take between 4 to 6 hours. Besides install time, that also includes prepping the house with tarps and plastic. The attic must also be prepped, such as making sure all ducts are sealed, no electrical issues and capping any lights that are non ic-rated. Finally, the house is cleaned up, making sure we left nothing behind but a more comfortable home.
Insulation installed in your attic and walls will dramatically reduce the amount of heat that infiltrate your home. Your house will stay cooler longer into the day and the air conditioning will have to be on less often. When we insulate residences during hot summer days, our customers often notice a huge difference that night and when they wake up. The insulation helps moderate the temperature in the house. Gone are the extreme temperature swings of summer...and winter.
