There are 3 different campsites within the Myakka River State Park, Palmetto Ridge is the nicest in my opinion with large private gravel sites, concrete at handicap sites with foliage in between giving privacy, some sites are drive thru, full hookups with sewer at each site and 2 nice and clean bath houses that each have coke machines, laundry ($1.50 a load wash/dry) and small community library to trade books, magazines and movies. Palmetto Ridge is half a mile from the front gates/ranger station and this is my favorite. The staff here is amazing and very knowledgeable. There’s lots to do here at Myakka including seeing lots of wildlife, we have had deer within 5 feet of us and even have one that we see every morning in our camp site! The views are beautiful and the fishing is good. Photography is amazing and Towards the back Of the park you’ll find canoe rentals and a boat tour and even a great gift shop.

This campground is great. Quite, clean, attentive staff and large full service sites. I’ll be back.
