Is it common practice for a golf course employee to scream, yell, and threaten customers? As soon as my friend and I entered #1 tee off, I heard someone screaming, "Join them!" at us. We were confused, as it took us a moment to realize what the situation was. Our joining members, a gentleman and a lady, didn't wait for us to finish our shots and were readying themselves for their second shot in the distance. He yelled at us again and ordered us to join them. My friend bristled and asked, "Why are you screaming at us? He said, "Join them or I'm going to take (the golf cart) key!" How we can join them when we hadn't had the chance to first shot! How can he threaten the customer!! Later we found out he was the manager named Scott Wally. When we complained about this incident, he change his word saying "After tee off shot, you join them!" He apologized in a mocking way. He totally ruined our day and experience at Rio Hondo Golf Club.

First time playing here. Drove up from Long Beach to play.The course was in great shape. It's obvious that they are putting revenue generated back into the course/facilities. I really enjoyed the topography of the course. Will definitely be back.

This is a nice course. But the fact that nobody is in charge or will do anything about place of play makes it not worth wasting your time to play here. Had a 10 am start time. Finished just before 4. Ridiculous. This course generates enough revenue to hire a marshall.

Pro: nice course - pretty well kept good value for this type of course if you can play the whole course Cons. 3.5 hrs to play nine holes no management to keep players moving so you will sit and wait for 30 minutes on a hole. We were backed up 4 deep. So either management needs to manage the course better or back up times between start times. Paid for 18 holes and could barely get 9 holes in. We started at 2:50 and should have been able to get through 14 or 15 holes before dark. Will not play here again.
