3 of us came from Lakeland to enjoy day passes. We arrived at 10:15 and were told at gate that we couldn't get in until 11:00, because it allows residents to enjoy the pool before visitors. I can understand a 8:00 or 9:00 check in , but 11:00??? Come on Sawmill, you sell day passes for $15.00 but can't enjoy the day. You lost $45.00 on passes, two membership renewals, food and drinks for 3. Oh well, I guess you don't need our money..hummm. Seems to me you all have gotten a little to persnickety...

Well, like everything else post Covid, prices go up and services and perks go down.πŸ˜‘ Overnight rates and membership fees have increased. And the fourth free night with a mandatory three night holiday weekend stay has been eliminated. Bummer because that day I used to relax at the pool and easily dropped 30 bucks on food and refreshments. However on the upside this establishment is clearly spending money on improvements. Constantly. Every visit you will see something new that they've added or refurbished. 🀩 And it's all done first class! The number of snowbirds has increased to the point where it's nearly impossible to get an overnight site or a weekend stay for us localsπŸ™ I wish they would take out that entire South double row on the north side of Ricki Lake and return it back to campground status instead of full-time ownership.πŸ™ˆ Update: on my recent visit, another special event weekend (when prices are conveniently higher)πŸ€‘ I invited a couple of friends to meet me out there. Little did I know it was going to cost them more than $100 to visit for an afternoon and evening! 😲 It seems they are charging $50 for an annual membership, plus tax. In addition to a daily use fee, plus tax, in addition to an event fee, plus tax.😲 My friends drove over a hundred miles and spent $70 on gas before they even got there to spend another $150 EACH, before leaving for the night. I fear that this campground is doing what they did 10-15 years ago that stopped all of us from going. They are getting cocky and greedy. In fact there's an entire page of rules and regulations that you have to initial 😣 Can you imagine staying at a campground (And it's certainly not inexpensive, nor is it resort quality) where they don't pick up your garbage bag every morning? You will be charged a $30 fine, plus tax! You are instructed that you must walk up front and place your garbage in the bin. They don't even give you a garbage bag! Can you imagine, as a pet owner, having to sign and initial you will accept a fine for not cleaning up after your pet?πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ What is this, summer camp? I noticed from the greatly reduced attendance on this recent holiday weekend that people are not making the drive and spending the money anymore. I'm sure after the new venues open in Orlando and Tampa people will much rather stay behind and spend 50 bucks than drive 2 hours and spend $150!πŸ˜– I always like to end my reviews on a positive note πŸ˜ƒ The staff here is amazing. They are polite, helpful and super efficient. Hands down the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen anywhere. And they are always clean. Several times a day! 🀩 I mean cleaned and sanitized. Absolutely spotless πŸ₯³

Hi everyone, M&M here, (Mike and Maxx) giving you the latest update on campgrounds along the east coast. This past Week, (June 24th to July 1st) we tent camped at the Sawmill Campground in Dade City Florida and here is our evaluation: Staff - Very friendly and super helpful [Rating is 5/5] Tenting Area – The tent sites were very spacious and kept the real feel of camping in the Woods. Each site had electric, and water and no campers felt crowded or on-top of each other. (No pun intended, LOL). If you are bringing a large group of friends, you will have plenty of room to tent camp and enjoy nature or relax. [Rating is 5/5] Security was very friendly and enforced the "Quiet Hours" in a polite way. We could tell that management was well respected and maintained a high level of excellence within the campground. [Rating is 5/5] Activities, Bars, Dance Hall, Pool, Billiards Room, Community Fire pits, scenic lake, and hiking trails: all areas were great and catered to all the needs of all types of diversity. [Rating is 5/5] Tent Camping Pricing - The week/weekend rates were priced well. No sticker shock and well worth the price for seasoned tent campers, especially for solo or couples on a budget. Water and electricity are included in the price and not as an extra cost. [Rating is 5/5] Bathroom facilities - Shockingly, they were top notch. We tested the water pressure, hot water cycle, cleanliness, at each shower stations and bathrooms & enjoyed the spacious showers and stall areas. [Rating is 5/5] The CafΓ© - What can I say, but the food was great. We ate there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and tried almost everything on the menu. The limited menu offers a wide variety of food choices & is reasonably priced. The cooking staff did a fantastic job at preparing the meals to make them tasty and appealing. Well worth the price. [Rating is 5/5] Landscaping (New Review) – The landscaping areas of the campground gave a real tropical feel. The colorful arrangement of flowers and native plants were an awesome touch to make the campground such a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the scenic views. [Rating is 5/5] Aside from the small thunderstorms (expected in Florida), it was a wonderful vacation, and we will most definitely be back in a few months to experience more of the campground. So far on this Summer Journey, the Sawmill Campground in Dade City Florida ranks at the top on our list of Campgrounds for the Summer of 2022. (40/40, Final Rating is 100%)

First time there. Had a cabin with oriva6bathroom. Room was very clean. Had tv and refrigerator. A small hotel room setup. Very nice. Grounds were very neat and clean. Staff was really nice. Lots of fun. Will go back. The Friday night DJ and Saturday pool party DJ, Joey Brown, played great music and you could see everyone had fun.
