This is our “special occasion” place. But tonight was a splurge. As usually we had stellar service, this time from Najhia. She was as awesome as the meals! We had John Dory, prime rib and rib eye. OMG amazing!! I recommend the lavender lemon drop, wedge and french onion soup! Can’t say enough to explain how wonderful this restaurant is!

The scenic view was really good. The food overall is tasty but not that special from lawrys. The ribeye steak is def better here than lawrys.

Came here for the first time to get their restaurant week deal. I think the service is really good overall. Just wanted to state that because looking at the price, at first glance, I thought it's one of those restaurants with butler level mannered servers? (I'm not sure how else to really describe this) but don't expect fancy tier service with all servers having the perfect mannerisms although they are pretty high up there. NOW onto the food! The bread is good, fresh and toasty. I didnt notice anything special about the butter. The escargo flavor was really good! But the escargo itself was rather dry. The lobster bisque was smooth and creamy, but didn't taste much lobster flavor nor actual lobster. The the filet mignon was also kinda dry. I know some people who would love the way this was cooked. But it is not for me. The sauce helped moisten the dryness but that itself didn't have much flavor either. Probably to avoid overpowering the taste of the meat. I can't comment on the rib as it was not mine. I LOVED the creamed corn. Wish I had more of this side. Now for desserts, out of all 3, my favorite was the chocolate torte. Would get that again in a heartbeat. Due to location, overall service, pricing, ambience and food, I'd say this place would be good for a fancy date night or to celebrate a special occasion.

Quintessential prime rib house, quality of the rib is decent, but it's hard to find something unique to distinguish it from any other prime rib houses. Yorkshire pudding was a little on the dry side, and the creamed corn tasted more cream than corn. Overall is a decent meal, and priced for its service and location on a hill.

Yes, we have a corkage fee of $20 per bottle you bring in. Gary
Yes, but worth it! Make sure to request for a view!
Yes we do- please call our private party specialists at 714-671-3076. Thanks so much for your inquiry.
Currently Howard is playing Wednesday thru Sunday nights.
No, tried that with no success. They won't budge.
We wish you could! When the governor allows us to to do table service dining we will. Thanks for thinking of us. Gary
Depends on your definition of quiet
They have an incredible happy hour at their bar. Get the prime rib french dip sandwich.
Ani- We do not carry dry aged steaks at this time, however our rib eye and our 7 and 12 ounce filets are USDA Prime, minimum 28 days age, from Stockyards Packing of Chicago. You will be hard pressed to find steaks this good anywhere else. (And by the way- we grill all of our steaks over oak wood.) Come in, try one, let me know what you think. Gary
Karen- At this time we do not have duck on the menu. Usually during the Holiday season we will feature it. Thanks Gary
Don't believe they deliver however can order and pick up. Best to contact the restaurant to confirm.
I have never seen a coupon available. Might be worth a call to see if they have any promotional discounts.
Call them. We're not staff
No, we are closed for Christmas Day- we will reopen for dinner on Wednesday at 5:00
Yes, there are tables in the bar area that can be reserved. Typically, you will not need a reservation for this area even on weekends. However, just to be safe I would make a reservation. The bar itself is walk-in. I actually recommend the bar area to enjoy the pianist
Cynthia- It is a lemon butter sauce, the same sauce we used on the John Dory for years (when it was available). Gary
Anne- No, not at this time. However we do open for dinner at 5:00 on Sunday. Gary
No problem- please park in the lower lot adjacent to state College Bld. Gary
Not required but for weekends and holidays good idea had a complete prime rib dinner for 20.00$ good
We are not open for Sunday brunch, however we open for dinner at 5:00 and for lunch Tuesday through Friday.
I don't remember exactly now, but I think the cheapest and smallest one was about 35~40 dollars.
No, Summit House does not do Sunday brunch. I would suggest reservations and allowing extra time to walk the grounds. The views at sunset on a clear day are stunning.
