Got to see plenty of manatees when we were here both in December and in March. Many more in March because there was a storm that brought more into the river. We camped along the Mud River and paddled over to Weeki Wachee River and up to the spring head. Very cool experience for the kids.

Just an amazing experience, it seems in January there at least a few manatees hanging out here all the time. It’s such a calming experience to see them in the water. They move so slow and gentle you are completely relaxed based on there behavior and leave feeling refreshed. Go during the week early in the morning to avoid a lot of people. One of my new favorite places to go. It soothes the soul!

There were no manatee seen that day, We dropped in and rented a kayak at wicki wachi marina. $30 For 4 hrs or 35 from 8 am to 4 pm.Nice customer service!

You can fish pretty much anywhere on the river. Fwc does patrol on jet skis ago know what you can keep and what you can't.
Yes you can. It's not far at all......just have to paddle against the current which isn't a problem at all.
Yea I figured that out... Address leads you to an abandoned house lol its not accessible if not by boat.
Hospital hole is in a freshwater river, it is a salt/brackish water from about 10-135 ft and you'll get some saltwater species that hang out there. I believe you can fish for saltwater species in freshwater with just a saltwater license, but it's a fine line.
It's right at 135 to 140 feet deep in the center and please don't pay any attention to Jay Brown he has a lot of pictures of absolutely nothing most of which you can find on the web! He has no idea at all about hospital hole on the weeki wachee river yes the has pictures 2 or 3 but I doubt the guy was ever there at all just being honest
