I just came from a tour, and I was SO impressed! The birds are beautiful and clearly well cared-for. Our guide, Alex, was a gem. Friendly, knowledgable, and passionate about what she does helping these birds. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place both to visit and as a place to care for your bird when you no-longer can.

This is a place that clearly cares about their birds. They go out of their way to make sure the birds are safe, happy, and are able to assimilate with other birds to ease them into their new long term care home. The tour was amazing! Alex did a phenomenal job with explaining not only generic information about the birds but what makes each one special. Great date idea or event to do with kids.

Questions & Answers

Hi, I love the fact that you take care of the parrots there. Thank you for not selling them to people. When I become an age where I can no longer take care of my Af. Grey, I will send him to you with a large sum of money as a donation for all.

You would need to get in touch with them directly, I don't think they monitor this thread.

My mother has an African Grey and a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo for over 15 years. As she gets older it is very hard for her to keep up with the birds in cleaning cages and over all care. They are in great shape... do you take birds?

We do offer a lifelong Sanctuary for parrots. Please go to our website www.flabirdsanctuary.org to learn about the placement process and the support required under the page "placing your parrot" or "future placement program" I hope we can help. Best Regards, FEBS

Um.. first they don't sell them. The blue mcaw is on extinct list. You can buy one from AZ parrots but your looking at a whole lot more money then that!

Yes they do.

Be nice if it was advertised under the hours online and on the website it is by appointment only.

No, "appointment required" is not listed under the hours of operation. Its listed under "tours". I did not consider myself and two children would be a group tour. Very disappointing for the children today after driving 40 minutes. Even took them to the bank to teach them the importance of donations for sanctuary's
