Nothing too extreme here, but if you want a nice relaxing spot to hike, trail run, or mountain bike with many different trailheads, then this is your place.

This is a great trail in an urban setting. There is just enough elevation change to give you a good workout. There are trails for bikes and hikes. It is pet friendly and there is an awesome view of tbe city along the way. There are restrooms available.

Whether you are biking or hiking, Stringer's Ridge is an excellent choice. The mountain bike trails are a well maintained, flowy, challenging ride that covers about 6 miles in a big loop. You can hike on an old paved road up to a great look out of Chattanooga, too. All of this is only minutes from downtown.

Not many people know that there are hiking and biking trails right next to downtown Chatt. It’s about a mile from Coolidge park, and offers a pretty great overlook of the city. The trails are well maintained and regularly used. Parking is on the south side of the park, and they have bike tools at the trail head if you need to do any repairs.

That parking lot is closed. Trails are open. Enter from Spears trailhead and parking lot.
There are two trail head near each other. You may have been trying to High Ridge Trail Head. That entrance is just a few spots at the end of a road. With the truck you should probably go to Stringers Ridge Park on Spears Ave. They have more parking there and a trailhead.
It's at the end of Spears Ave. In North Chattanooga.
