I don't write a lot of reviews, but I have to give a big shout out for the unexpectedly excellent service I received from the opticians who work here. I wouldn't normally expect such great service at a giant company like this. I went to get new glasses twelve days ago and was helped by John who I found to be extremely helpful, thorough, knowledgeable, personable, and patient yet efficient. John let me try on as many pairs of glasses as I wanted and later laid out all my options, explaining the pros and cons of everything, and generally making the experience a very pleasant one. Another great thing about Costco Vision Center was how fast my glasses were ready. Even though I didn't pick them up until twelve days after my visit, they were ready a week ago. When I went to pick up my glasses tonight, there was only one optician upon my arrival, and he was with a customer. I took a number and was immediately served after a second optician came back from break. This optician was as wonderful as John. She had actually waited on me a year ago when I swung by, but at that time Costco didn't accept my insurance (VSP). I remember her being very polite, helpful, and knowledgeable last year when she explained to me my options. Tonight, she provided me my glasses, and I asked her whether she could adjust my old pair of glasses that I was wearing. I expected her to just do something really quick, but instead she gave my glasses a full tune-up -- adjusting, tightening, and cleaning everything. What great service! In sum, the two opticians I encountered couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. They both are truly a credit to Costco, and I don't see any reason to go anywhere else for glasses.
