Waste of time. Talked to one of their supposedly accredited employees (Bill And ares) about filing for aid and attendance. Asked one question, he didn't know the answer, would need to do some research, and would call me back. That was 3 weeks ago. My advice, do the research and submit the claims yourself.

What lovely people! Talking to any of the VSOs is always a joy, and Debbie is marvelous. Great office to work with.

As a transitioning military veteran, I chose Solano County VSO as my representative upon moving to the immediate area. I provided all original paperwork to one of the full time employees, BILL ALCARES, so I can begin the long and meticulous process of filing for VA benefits. Fast forward three months - I call back to check up on the status of my packet only to find out that the employee which I had given my paperwork to had lost all original copies and had yet to even begin my claim. In fact, if I had not called or emailed, I would have never found out where I was in the process in terms of filing my VA claim. I lost three months of crtiical VA claim time as a result of gross negligence and laziness due to Bill Alcares and this office. To pour salt on my wound, as I picked up the remnants of my paperwork, Bill Alcares, nor the department director, Ted Puntillo offered any sincere apologies or regrets due to their fault in servicing my VA claim. As a veteran who has seen multiple combat deployments I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE ALL OTHER VETERANS SEEKING VA CLAIM ASSISTANCE TO STEER CLEAR OF THIS VSO!

Questions & Answers

I have a good friend currently in hospice and I have a couple of questions. 1. Will the VA pay for cremation, without any burial plans whatsoever? 2. Can his live in girlfriend, get married to him and receive any of his non-service benefits?

How many VSO do you have? I have file an application to be a VA Claims Rep. Do you have any information that might be helpful?

Hi Mr. Kemper, Ted Puntillo, our Director, Bill Alcares, Pat Sheehan, Natalie Silva, Bill Davis (part-time), and Colleen Kelly at Travis AFB who only handles Active Duty Personnel. Typically, we have 3 to 4 counselors here. If you want to be a VSO you should watch the County job announcements. Solano County has one that announces when any job with the county has an opening. This typically rings true with the other counties, too. If you want to work with the VA, you will have to apply under the USA job site for Federal VA positions. A lot of Veterans think we are the VA, but we are not. We are Solano County Veteran Services. We are the mediator between the Veteran and the VA. Each County has a Veteran Service Office. If you have anymore questions, please let us know. Either email us or call us at: 707-784-6590. Have a good day... Debby

I would go to Fairfield talk to TED or other staff members there to check your income to make sure that you have enough money for the loan that's what they did to me ... Mustico Reality is Vet friendly in Vallejo on Tennessee St

Where do I look to check on the status of my VA claim.
