I volunteered at Next Door years ago, and the house is clean and nice. However, I would over hear women calling looking for shelter space and the staff saying, "that they were at full capacity" when indeed there where open beds and a room available. I find myself having to be one of those women calling for space and often wonder if like in the past these women are lying. There great at listening and gathering all the private details about what is going on in ones personal life, however, there is so much more needed to be re-evaulted if they truly wish to make a change in the life of families. I am not discounted those women who truly have good intention, but there needs to be someone giving constructive, real criticism. This County is too rich for faulthy services. Besides that, they need to rename there "petty cash fund" into something more nice. It's good to be kind, and not sarcastic to those who find themselves in need of help. We need genuine women willing to help and not people just looking for a paycheck. It's been 2 years of me seeking on and off help and no one helping. I also, think the IRS should audit them.

So glad to have been referred to next door solutions. They were so kind and helpful the whole way through and provided guidance, help, and support. They made the process of filing court paper work so much easier and less of a hassle. I am extremely grateful!

The lady on the crisis hotline was extraordinarily rude. I was calling on behalf of a friend to inquire about their services and she asked me why my friend wasn't calling instead. I told her that he wasn't in a safe space to do so, and she said that he could "call when he was ready." She offered little to no explanation on their services, and basically just asked me "What do you want?" For a crisis hotline, this is extremely disappointing.

I visited here to make a donation. As with most charities, they were hit hard by Covid-19. During quarantine, domestic violence rate spiked, stretching this nonprofit to its limits. When I reached out to see how my business could help. They told me their budget for its rent and utility asssistance program had swelled from $30k to $1.25 million in the first 18 months of Covid. What's more, this charity had to reconfigure its shelter to meet covid standards in regard to social distancing, but also amassed a bill for having to quarantine victims in hotels until it was safe for them to be admitted to their shelter. Talk about above and beyond!!! Thank you for serving our community and giving victims of domestic violence a safe place to go for help of all kinds. I wish I could do more to help. Namaste 🙏
