I'm not one to post bad reviews but if it can help one person, it is worth it. I had a terrible experience. I went there for toe pain that had become so bad, I had trouble walking. He knew right away what it was. Explained in words hard to understand. Told me that my hip and knee was causing the issue in my "foot" because it made me walk weird. I tried to tell him it was in my "toe" but yes my foot hurt because of the way I was walking. He never examined my big toe. Gave me prescriptions to go to Red's Shoe Barn. Told me that it would never be healed but with these shoes, it would feel 50% better in 6 weeks. Told me i needed to wear these shoes, a pair for inside and a pair for outside always and that I'd never be able to walk the beach, etc. I also would need to replace these shoes every few months! Fortunately, my gut told me to get a second opinion. The podiatrist I have now actually examined my toe, actually took an x-ray which confirmed her thoughts and I had surgery almost 4 weeks ago and I am almost completely healed. I was told today that I can walk the beach!! I would not ever recommend this doctor!!!

I share a very similar experience with other reviewers here. I bought his recommended shoes at red shoe barn. They have slightly improved my condition. On my follow up he insisted that I should be 50% better and when I told him, no, that wasn’t the case he was flustered with that answer. He examined the non-problem foot, then the problem foot-the opposite side of where my pain is and insisted my reaction to his exam was markedly improved from last time. Which I agreed with but that is not the area of pain I presented to him with. I questioned him about this, why does the outside exam of the foot have to do with the pain on the inside and ankle area? Again, he seemed frustrated, insisted that is not what I presented with on my first visit. I can tell you, that after having this “problem” for about 6 months, limping around and just being in agony most days, I should know where my GD pain is! He had to prove it to me so he went and got my notes and read them to me. So either you weren’t listening the first time or you wrote it down wrong-scary either way. And in his notes, where he describes my current footwear, it is mentioned 1 particular pair of shoes that I did not have with me. Really? Those are the shoes I wore to the appointment! So he grabs his visual aids and plunks himself down on his stool very frustrated, and says, “I guess we’ll have to go over this again “, then, “ now do you understand?” What?! Now you’re treating me like I’m stupid?! I’m not one to question authorities or stand up for myself or I’d have grabbed my belongings and been out of that office. I will have to find another foot doctor because I WILL NOT be seeing him again.

Couldn’t be happier with my visit with Dr. Gerry!! He was nothing short of amazing. He diagnosed me with planter fasciitis. I have literally been walking in pain for years and Dr. Gerry fixed my entire life. Instead of suggesting costly treatments like other podiatrists have pushed for he simply recommended a pair of shoes from Red’s (got a discount with prescription) and I’ve been walking on clouds ever since. Wish I would have gone to him sooner!

I was just getting ready to post a review and read the last post....and I had a completely different experience with Dr. Gerry! First, I have never met a doctor with more passion and commitment to his profession than Dr. Gerry. Second, I found him compassionate and truly vested in solving my foot issues. He did not take 5 minutes and rush me out. He explained with a model of a foot he has in his office why I was having foot pain. He really took the time to help me understand instead of just telling me what I had to do with no explanation. I found that helpful and refreshing. He also gave me a list of recommended shoes to purchase at Red's Shoe Barn and his recommendations saved me! Furthermore, he did two surgeries on my son's feet and quite literally saved him from major issues as a teen and beyond. He had severe pronation to the point where his pinky toes did not even reach the floor. At a young age Dr. Gerry fixed this problem. My son was able to play sports, run, etc..Before he could not even go on a moderate walk without foot, leg, hip and back pain. Now he never has foot pain or any pain at all! I felt like Dr. Gerry performed a miracle. It changed his life! AND he provided amazing care before, during and after the surgery. He truly cared. Thank you Dr. Gerry!!!
