I visited AFC Urgent Care Dedham in a panic mode for COVID-19 testing. After paperwork procedures, the health services staff were efficient. Dr Richard Aubry who offered consultation advice, was very kind, expertly translated the results and offered choices and follow up prescription. Dr Aubry was SUPERB! A BIG THANK YOU to ALL.

The pandemic has the support staff overwhelmed which probably resulted in my unpleasant experience there, which is completely understandable. They are sacrificing their own physical and mental health to help as many people as possible. So, at least at the time of this post, you can expect the following: One staff member at the front desk has coped with the pandemic workload by being calm, patient, but borderline unmotivated, apathetic and disconnected. Another staff member copes by being hostile and combative with would-be patients. This review is only based on my visit there on 2 separate days. So weight it accordingly.

The doctors and most of the nurse attendants are to die for—absolutely fantastic. But there is a couple of people at the desk that not only are rude, they try to redirect you to another place and not respectful on confidentiality of your symptoms at all. I’ve been coming here a while, but this individual is just horrible and it’s made me go elsewhere.

Needed a rapid covid test for work purposes, they had availability the next day, upon arrival was met by the young woman at front desk who was "terse" asked if had a mask, which I had forgotten in car, returned with mask and gave my info and was handed a clipboard and instructed to fill out paperwork in my car, returned again and told to wait in car for a call which came about ½ hour after scheduled appointment time of which I had received many text reminders which also asked me to arrive early, which I did. I guess waiting area was off limits as furniture was stacked up against the wall. Once in a room, I found my tech to be efficient, seemed like she was doing many things but she was quick, the doctor followed up, he was very pleasant and answered a bunch of questions. Results were quick, experience was good. The place itself felt a little awkward/uncomfortable but overall they got the job done.

This year's flu season looks different, with Covid-19 still a major threat for all of us. Lyme disease care ?

Charles C | Aug 24, 2020
Adam Hockman | Aug 24, 2020

I personally wouldn't go there for that and actually I'll never go there again. I went there with a bad back recently and they barely did anything. The "doctor" saw me for 30 seconds. She said I must have pulled a muscle and don't need an x-ray. Turns out I have a small crack in my vertebrae after going to see my primary. They honestly could have cared less about my pain and my situation. Place is a joke and all they want is your money.

Have a rash do you treat that

Saundra Simon | Aug 25, 2018
Roz Thompson | Aug 25, 2018

You are asking a public forum of internet strangers, not doctors at the facility FYI. They will take walk ins for any symptoms, they will examine you, and if they can treat it they will, otherwise they will refer you to someone who can.
