Great place to stay in Spearfish. Love the rustic decor. Room was clean and quiet. Mini fridge and microwave. We walked to main street and had dinner. Would definitely again again.

Convenient motel with a clean bed and big shower. Loved the large shower with newer tile work, very clean. The commode had been reconfigured at some point so it could be tricky and tight for some to maneuver and fit into the space. Hopefully one day all carpet will be gone from motels. The ac was set on 72 and controlled by the office, so not a great nights sleep for a middle aged woman and 100 degree days.

Ok..this place is retro rad and the staff member I met was very nice. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It has updated bathrooms but I imagine the rest of it looks the same as it always has. I dropped 1 star because there was no in suite phone. For most people this wouldn't be a big deal at all but this location was in a cell phone dead zone for me and had I needed to call anyone for an emergency I'd be screwed. The WiFi was not so great either even right next to the window so I was unable to let my husband know where my toddler and I were for the night on our trip from WA to MN. I'd probably stay there again WITH my husband...we LOVE places like this!

We stopped in Spearfish for a couple nights on our way to Wyoming/Montana to tour Yellowstone and the Tetons. What a surprise this place was! Price was the best value in town, but I feel like we got even more than I expected. You never know beforehand, but the reviews were great and the photos were very cute. The neon lights at night were very fun. We stayed in a big room with a full kitchen that the manager told me had been recently refurbished and turned into a themed room with photos of the local fishery nearby. 2 big beds and a blue sofa that folded out. Plenty of room for everyone. Parking was a little tight, but manageable. The pool area looked nice but not yet open for the season at this point. I don't normally leave reviews but this place was such a surprise I feel others need to know. She gave a great recommendation for a family diner just a few minute walk from the motel. We stocked up on grocery items for most meals. Coffee in the morning and hot cocoa. We plan on staying here again on our way back through. The room was clean and fresh. They only had bar soaps in the room but in the reception area was a cart full of free shampoo, toothbrushes, and other items for guests to help themselves. We liked the laid back atmosphere and are looking forward to coming back. - Jen
