They are truly a blessing and the staff couldnt be nicer. I also have add that because they are generous and kind the people that need helps act that way as well.

Let me start off first by saying this: if you're comfortable with thinking that it's OK to look down your nose with disgust and treat people in need as though you are better than them, then you need to find a new job! With that said, this SO CALLED food pantry is a joke along with the rude and snotty jokers that volunteer there! I brought a homeless family of 3 who were sleeping in their minivan to this pantry. I had literally just met the family 15 min prior to bringing them to this horrible place. Long story short they relocated for a job position that nobody was willing to take and drove from AZ to Florida. They spent their savings and were told the job was no longer available. After 3 weeks of being in Florida, both parents quickly recovered from the loss and both found a job as a landscaper and the other in a dental practice. When I met them they were getting ready for work and getting their child ready for school in my church parking lot where they lodged for the night. Meanwhile, they followed me to Our Daily bread food pantry in good spirits that they were going to get some help and food. Boy was I wrong! This joke of a place turned them away because they didn't have Florida I.d's, they hadn't been in Manatee county for 30 days and they didn't have proof of residency! What? Are you kidding me right now? I was so hurt and embarrassed for them. What makes this place so special? Who in their right mind would have a food pantry that is piled sky high to the ceiling with DONATED food and not give it to the hungry and needy because they don't have the proper credentials? I was appalled! You ought to be ashamed of you, your rude workers and your organization. You are supposed to be in this ministry to help feed the hungry, not turn them away! Your organization is disgusting!

Our Daily Bread is open 364 days a year (only closed on Christmas)! THE KITCHEN SERVES a hot meal 10am to 11:30am DAILY. And, the Loaves & Fishes food pantry is OPEN MON & FRI, 8:30am to 11am (for once a month/per person self-serve grocery shopping)
Check with Cheryl Hedger , Director of Volunteers. However I believe under 18 they require parental supervision.
I haven't been going there so I'm really not sure , i think you can find out though by asking a city official , all the best luck with that too !
You have to go in early, say 8:30, so as not to be disruptive, and speak to the kitchen manager. Or you could always call and leave a message.

Ok do you have to bring anything like an id or anything of that sort?
ID, need, perseverance, indifference to dignity...at the pantry
