I’ve bought books here in the past and had enjoyed the bookstore. But today, I had a very unpleasant experience with the lady at the register. So much so, that I won’t be coming back. I bought two books with my credit card and the lady quizzed myself and then my boyfriend on my name… seemingly implying that I had stolen my credit card? Totally inappropriate and unprofessional. Next time, ask to see an ID, instead of demeaning a customer. Maybe it’s because I’m middle eastern? I read a similar review from another ethnic person who was treated with suspicion. So off-putting.

A Parker's Books is a treasure. I ordered a hard-to-find book from them online, and received the "triple crown" of delight upon delivery. First, the condition. The website had described it as "very good+," but they had woefully understated the condition. As far as I could tell, it was closer to "mint"/"like new." Where else have you see a firm that exaggerates the quality of their merchandise on the LOW side? Second, the value. Other sites were asking 50% or even 100+% more for the same book (with condition descriptions that sounded way more "used" than what I got). And third, the shipping. Honestly, whoever packed the book must have followed the instructions used in preparing King Tut and his sarcophagus, as there was: a) a protective cover placed around the book jacket and book itself, which was then b) shrouded in expertly folded and taped bubble wrap, which was then c) nested in a virtually indestructible cardboard shipping box. This was my first-ever purchase from A Parker''s Book, but you can count me as a raving fan from here on out.

I love this book shop! Stopping in is a must. They have a vast collection and even a room in the back with valuable books, first editions, etc. Very organized and many different topics to choose from.

As a book collector and lover of vintage paperbacks, this store is one of the best bookstores I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to stores all over the country. They have an enormous selection of vintage paperbacks in great condition - many in protected sleeves. They have a large selection of hardcover fiction and even a locked room in the back with the more valuable stock. The woman working there was incredibly kind and helpful…not just to me but to others who came in looking for specific items while I was shopping. I live out of state and only visit to see family but making a stop at Parker’s books will be a must for me every time I’m back from now on and it should be a must visit for any book lover!
