I should have read all these 1 star reviews before doing business with them. I had a hole that called for 40 yard of dirt. I ordered three 15 yard truckloads and a load of topsoil but after dumping it all the hole wasn't even close to full. I should have compared the prices shown on their website to what the actually charge you, so should you. After checking my order more closely I saw they charged me the 15 yard price for topsoil but delivered me only 5 yards of top soil. I told them I wanted the 10 extra yards of topsoil that they charged me for and not received. I contacted the owner and he rudely said I got everything I am getting. There is no doubt the loads were short of dirt. I had to call another company since I still needed more dirt and they brought me out 15 yards. The pile that was left after they dumped it was obviously bigger then the piles Piece company dumped. Be sure to scroll down and read all these 1 star reviews. Do they seem like ethical and honest people to you? If this many people all have these problems, that should tell you all you need to know.

BEWARE!! They use a 1/2 yard bucket and say that it is a 1 yard bucket. When I contacted the lady that took my payment (apparently the owners daughter), she wanted nothing to do with the situation. I’ve been doing this for 10+ years and know what a 1 yard bucket looks like. Definitely would not refer this place to anyone. Prices are cheap but you are only getting half the material.

I highly recommend Pierce Materials, I have purchased sand, gravel and crushed asphalt from them on many occasions. They're always on time, very curtious and with high quality products. And most of all fair prices. It's always been a pleasure doing business with this company. How often can you make that claim with any company now day's.

Alex was very patient, kind and professional communicating and taking care that he was doing what I want the way I wanted it, stopping to ask as he went along. I am very happy with the new material they are offering: crushed granite. It seems to be the best material I've ever had here through the years (previously had crushed lime rock, shell and/or concrete.). The fill they brought for other areas was clean and not filled with debris. If Alex noticed any odd pieces of debris, he picked them out and took them away later. Prices are reasonable for this area. They were actually able to come and do the job when many others would not even return my calls. Would have given a 5 but did not like not receiving notices of schedule changes--waiting for them to come when they said they would and then calling to find out schedule had changed. Also, a driver went over the edge of driveway into ditch and got truck stuck for awhile. That driver is no longer there. I have had them back for more work and will call them again.

You obviously have no knowledge of gravel. This "sludge" you are referring to is called fines. When the material is out put into a crushing machine the material breaks up and leaves behind small sand like material. No company here in Polk County will have screened materials.
Depends on what material your load consists of and how many loads (more loads can get a discount) and how far you are from them.
