All the recent reviews I read said this place was a mosquito haven. Not sure what happened, but I found very few mosquitoes. I would turn around and see 10 or 20 behind me at most. The black flies are here though. If you wear bug spray they won't bite you, but they are scary if you see them behind you. Stick to the shore if you want to avoid as many bugs as possible, it's more scenic and less wet anyways. The bear track trail is a little waterlogged in places, and I had to cut through the woods to get around the trail. The lake is awesome though, and the several viewpoints along it's shore are worth taking pictures at.

The place is very cute. Excellently clean. The roadway is not paving but quite passable. Fresh air. The water not so clean, I mean had green slime. It is cold depending on the time of year. Very distant in my opinion. Very lonely, wild animals could be seen, so be very careful. Bring enough fuel and groceries. There is nothing close for about 45 minutes or more. Really a unique experience but I achieved it because I lived close to it, otherwise it would not be worth it for the distance. But if you love forests this would be your place

Nice place anytime of the year! Camping swimming and canoeing in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter.

The walkin camp sites are great and not have to feel like having neighboring campers right on top of you and even though the view of the lake wasn't great from these sites, it was peaceful. The park has a nice picnic and beach area and good options for fishing.
