I attended a wedding reception at the event center. Was very pleased with the staff. They were very courteous and attentive. It was a nice large venue

We were in town for a youth basketball tournament. About 13 adults and 5 kids. Showed up for lunch around 1:50 Sunday afternoon. Another group about our size arrived about 25 minutes before us. Other than that no other people eating. Bit of foreshadowing…. The group before us had no drinks. Should have been our clue to go elsewhere. Long story short…….drinks came fairly quick and order was taken. Waitress checked on us once. 70 minutes after our order no food. I went into the bar to inquire. I spoke to a person and asked for a status on our order as it has been over an hour. Her snotty reply? “That’s what you get when you show up with a big group of people.” Food showed up 90 minutes after order. My wife and I and two other kids received no food. Waitress was lost and took our order (again). Missing food showed up 10 minutes later but still missed my spouse order. We asked for our bill immediately when first round of food showed up as we stated we needed to get going to our next game. Slow getting bill. Got my bill…..two items we ordered weren’t even on the bill. One item that we were charged for wasn’t even what we ordered but was less money. No way was I going to try and sort it out with staff as it would have probably taken another hour to get an employees attention. Way to lose out on revenue though. For what it’s worth……Not once did the waitress or any employee provide an update throughout our wait nor was an apology offered. The group before had similar experience. They commented that they did not leave a tip. Our group didn’t tip either (for the record….. I have been a waiter and know what it’s like to work for tips. I generally tip very well when earned.) First and last time any of us will visit Shady’s. Quite a fitting name though. Funny fact……a couple groups during the tournament chanted “Shady’s” whenever there was a delay in the game.

The bartender was absolutely wonderful! I always had a drink and was never waiting for another, she made the drinks I asked for (as she had the proper ingredients) and it was a fantastic time! I will be back!
