Beautiful area to hike with your pup! I love that it is so close to home! I like that the trails are not super crowded and I can enjoy nature in peace. It’s not a super popular area, but I definitely enjoy it!!

Check out DWP Trail. Great view over Stewart Creek. Keep going down to the old Railroad tunnel. Recommend mountain biking, but you can hike it. Park a Grand Avenue Chalet.

This is a beautiful park overlooking Duluth, Superior and the St. Louis River. The Superior Hiking Trail runs through it in addition to other trails. We hiked the SHT from the trailhead to a beautiful overlook about two miles in. The trail is very well cared for and the views were worth every step of the hike. It seemed that this park is not too heavily used. And should definitely get more visitors than it does. There are biking trails just north of the trail head that connect to Spirit Mountain.

Unprecedented view of the Saint Louis River. Excellent hiking and exploring. Many different types of flora, animal and bird species abound. In the fall of the year the color change of the trees is spectacular. Only 20 minutes from downtown Duluth.
