Great area for just wandering the trails...I let my dogs pick the trails from the many intersections. Good for mountain biking. A mix of woodland and oak savannah. It's a little hilly too. Branches have been combined into teepee type structures throughout the park which I am sure would be fun for kids. The deer are very comfortable and allow you to get close.

Small, tidy, mostly a neighborhood park and connector to nearby Lake Maccaron. Note dogs must strictly be leashed. Few will find interest here but veterans and the patient come away with hidden wildlife sightings

Nicely wooded area with good trails, paved and unpaved. A bit hilly for some near the reservoir. Access from the Roselawn Cemetery in the west with trails east to McCarrons Lake and a DQ there. Off-leash dog park too off Larpenteur. All connected via trails.

This is an excellent park with many different ecosystems. You have wetlands, oaks, pines, and much much more. The terrain is wonderful and changing with a few nice hills for exercise. There are some paved trails but the majority of the park is composed of soft trails. Even on a hot day, the woods are terrific and cool. The puns are very buggy but wonderful. There are a lot of wildlife as well. We saw a deer, dragonfly, damsifies, and frogs today. There is a nice overlook with a pair of tables and benches. There are four spots with benches in the parks rest, one of them is a shaded double bench. There is also a really cute fairy door that kids can leave things in. It is located in the Southeast Park region on the other side of Dale Street near one of the signs for a curve. Very very highly rated.

No. Even if you leave the paved trails, after you walk the trails once or twice, you'll feel safe enuf to enjoy yourself.
They are multi- use trails, but yes, there's about 5 miles back there good for the MTB. Not really a destination, more just something to learn a loop on if you are local.
