First off, Don't come to LA'S best seafood place and order a steak... I ordered a Filet mignon and it was terrible, I sent it back. It tasted like a grainy burger, but it was tender. I've been eating at steakhouses since I was able to chew and this was a turnoff. The crab nuggets were cut up pieces of crab legs in the shell, I felt like a toddler again. The tempura lobster sushi was overhyped.. Mostly rice with a piece on top smothered in sauce.. Like a state fair sushi. The Crab pancake was good, but I was confused of the salad it came with- I would just order that and be done. The Mexican corn was OK for presentation wise, but was hoping for more flavor. Lastly. The monkey bread was the best. It made my night and I'd literally come to this restaurant just to order this and nothing else. If you feel you had a meal that didn't satisfy you Herr, just order that dessert and you'll instantly forget any negative memory on the pallet.

The clam chowder was rather disappointing as it was really watery, not thick. Ling said it might be a taste preference but I don't think it's worth getting it considering the price. First time eating at the Water Grill with my girlfriend Ling. We had a good time, the atmosphere is busy and so understandably the service was rather slow on a Saturday evening. Ling loved the sushi we got and said it was very authentic and comparable to Japanese restaurants. With the right dishes, Water Grill is a great place to eat at.

Food is great as always, variety of oysters is incomparable to others local places. I've been a customer for over 15years. I have to say this was the worst customer service experience. I really don't know where to start on how bad it was. Can't blame lack of staffing because we had lunch when there were only a few tables occupied and several staff members all over the place. In the front of the house a gentleman who's only job is to sit you and not much other than that. When I asked for something as he sat us down his response was "yeah that's not my job, you need to ask your server for whatever you need". I had to wait no less than 10mins to be served water. We ordered specific drinks and the wrong ones were brought. A smirk is what we got and walked away. It took another 10mins to get our drinks, keep in mind, the restaurant was still not busy at all. The same level of service was the same the entire time. We even tried being playful to see if we got a better reaction. Eventually the restaurant got busier and the service only went further south from that point. I will say the check on the table within minutes of not even asking for it. You guys have always had amazing food and service, I don't know what happened, I'll have to stay away for some time hoping it gets better.

The manager also came to check up on us and a few tables, which was a nice touch. The cocktails were tasty and well balanced! I'd honestly come back just for the drinks. This restaurant is perfect to celebrate a special occasion and for a nice fancy date. Food is mainly seafood. Very delicious food I'm just loving it, I would love to come again.
