Busy, big, busy again and still quite big... LAX is quite an experience, especially when you're from Europe - even LHR or FRA seem comparably small and well organized. Most important thing to consider if you have an international flight - need there early. In case you're return your rental - plan for plenty of time, the drive with the shuttle can take its time. If you come by taxi - see above, getting there takes time. Once inside it pretty much depends on your airline if you're check-in is fast, or takes los of time. Security checks are ok, but there can be cues...so again, plan for delays. So yeah, LAX is an experience, but it can go booth ways...

Chaotic is what best describes LAX. Why? The arrival gate was at least a mile from customs and further to baggage claim. Some bags arrived after 40-45 minutes, mixed in with another flights luggage, but about 20 of us were waiting for over an hour. I was about ready to file a missing luggage claim. You must pick up your luggage and then drop it off again at your connecting flight. In this case Delta, BUT Delta didn't have any agents at the drop-off point. This required shleping luggage to another terminal, so I missed my connecting flight. I then had to stand in line for customer service for departure check-in, as if I hadn't already done so. People were packed into small areas for customer service and security, so forget social distancing. The construction increased the chaos because normal entry points were blocked. I tried to avoid connecting through LAX from previous experience. After spending 8 hours at LAX, trust me, a few more dollars to connect elsewhere is worth it. HOWEVER, I must say that the majority of the airport employees, actually mostly Police Officers, I engaged for assistance were polite and helpful with navigating the maze.

I rate it 4 stars due to how large the airport is. Yes that sounds weird but it makes it hard to make a connection which is important but you have to take a bus between terminals and wait in line for armbands etc depending on where your going. I hope you all make your flights. Plenty of stores that say Los Angeles merch and food like dunking donuts and some restraunts as well.
