Excellent fried seafood. Scallops, clams, shrimp were lightly breaded and not greasy. Fries were good, but onion rings were clumped together, undercooked and greasy. Disappointed to have to deal with loud close-up live music on a mid-week evening, for the first time in memory at Costellos. Hard to talk and enjoy the lovely views in peace, neighboring tables agreed with us. Tables up close to the two-person band were occupied by one or two people each who thought they were at a cabaret, taking tables away from customers looking to sit down and eat. Low point of the evening was the guitarist and drummer attempting to cover "Sympathy for the Devil". Yow!

My husband and I went to Costello’s yesterday. Last year, we tried Abbotts for the first time and love the lobster rolls, so we decide to give Costello‘s a try. We were very disappointed. There were only maybe half a dozen people there, so it wasn’t very busy for a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the fish and chips my husband ordered a whole belly clam plate and we also ordered fritters. We found the portions pretty small, everything was very greasy, and not very warm at all. Our order did sit out on the counter for a good 10 minutes while our fritters were being cooked. Once I realized it was our order I asked to take it and just get the fritters when ready. The view was amazing and the workers were very kind and polite, but we won’t be back. Woodman’s in Essex MA is by the far the best fried seafood place around.

We have been going here for years, however this was our last time. Lunch for three cost $65.00 with no beverages, just water. They raised their prices and cut their portions smaller. The portions now are so tiny. The fish platter portions were so small and the french fries were overcooked and no flavor what so ever, and the fish had way to much batter on it and it was well over cooked. The clam chowder was so over salted that we could not eat it at all. We were there July 3, 2022. Its to bad, but we will look for somewhere else.

This is one of the best seafood shacks in the area! Their fries are SPECTACULAR. They have a wide variety of menu items for seafood lovers and for kids as well! I also loved the price point for the quality of seafood you get
