My kids have been going to Lohikan for 3 summers now (we skipped the first pandemic summer, but sent for the second). They love this time away, seem to not even miss their technology! They love the activities, the friends they've made, and rave about their counselors.

Camp Lohikan offers everything your child needs. Amazing and caring staff, good food, variety of activities. Great way for a child to meet new friends, learn how to be independant and more. My daughter didnt want to come home last summer and next year she is going for a month. Thank you camp Lohikan!

Wow. This camp was miserable. It seemed to be out of a Dickens story. First, when my son called from the infirmary because he had a headache from dehydration, the nurse told me that during Covid many of their water fountains were turned off. They had no way of giving water to the kids during the day. Next, my son who was a vegetarian complained that there was not enough to eat. The camp called me and suggested I send food so he could eat. The camp advertises that there are 65 activities. Turns out most of those were closed for the pandemic and if the kids wanted to do something they had to wait in line for hours. My son told me when cabin mates were homesick, the counselor (age 17) just put on his headphones and ignored them. When my son got home we tried to call and discuss the problems with the camp but they never returned our calls. This place was awful. Boring but more importantly, I don't think it was safe.

My son (12 at the time) had an amazing couple of weeks at Camp Lohikan last summer and we're going back next summer for a full month. He had a great time being with the other boys in his bunk and loved his counselors, and of course had fun doing the specific activities he wanted - a very cool feature of this camp. The SpyCamp was my son's particular favorite. Very grateful for the staff making 2020 a very special experience, making him feel very comfortable as well as parents who were eager (yet apprehensive) to get kids back into some kind of "normalcy" and just let them be kids. Highly recommend !

Well it's been some years since I worked there but their website seems to show the same activities! They have EVERYTHING! Horseback, arts & crafts, drama, music, lakefront activities like swimming, kayaks, rope swing, woodshop, swimming pool activities, trapeze (really they did and I did it myself, what a blast, you'd have to confirm on their site or by phoning their offices if they still offer that). Anyway, we're Californians but if we were closer we'd send our kids for a couple of weeks. Great place!! And, well supervised support staff when I was there.

How old do you have to be to apply to be a camp counselor? As a counselor, do you have to stay all summer? Can a camp counselor have access to their phone?
