Verdugo Park has big green spaces and looks quite well kept, but there aren't a lot of facilities besides a play ground, a small baseball ring, and a skate park. It's a great place for picnic and big gatherings, as there are tons of benches and lots of shades. Public restrooms are open and well kept in the park.

Big place. No cars allowed inside the park area all must park in the surrounding streets. It's nice and clean.

Great, spacious park to bring kids, play catch or hang out and read at table or under a tree. There's a skatepark, basketball courts and a baseball field as well as plenty of parking and clean-ish restrooms.

Camping is not allowed
I didn't see pickleball courts or tennis courts. There are plenty of spots for barbecuing, a huge open area with a little stage and several picnic tables, and a baseball field. It looks like there's also hiking available up and around the park.
There is an area for many guests. You should get there early and save the tables.

If your trying to get a large area on a busy day you should. If not then you'll probably be fine showing up extra early to claim your spot.
