Small gem of a place. Gorgeous old Japanese garden, with pond, nestled near a historic home now a Gallery of revolving contemporary art exhibits, along with a small gift shop. Great place to relax, take photos, connect with nature, have a zen experience.

Perhaps it’s because I was at Stonecrop the day prior. I was told that Japanese gardens were the most beautiful in the world. Perhaps they are, but you won’t find it here. Very unkept, very disappointing. The museum was nice. Perhaps it’s because they’re understaffed?? Notice their neighbors aren’t happy with Hammond Museum’s proposal on putting a cell tower on their property. Signs everywhere encouraging to say no cell towers on Hammond Museum.

I was excited to go here after seeing photos. They must have been quite old from a time it was better funded. It was very unkempt with lots of dead branches all over. Not well kept up and very small. Not worth the drive there. So disappointed.

It is a pretty and peaceful place, but I wouldn't pay 6 dollars everytime I went. There should be a seasonal resident fee fforb those who would like to visit more than once during the season.
