This restaurant looks like a transitional steakhouse, We came here with high expectations because of such good reviews. But we came out with great disappointment. The best way to cut skirt steak is to always cut against the grain of the muscle fibers, as is the case with most cuts of steak. Look at the way they cut the skirt steak (check the picture), we would chew on it for hours and still can't swallow. It's like eating a cow's hide. Some of the worst steak I've ever had at this price point. We got Pacific Diver Scallops for appetizer, which was the best dish of the dinner. The Caesar in the picture is half, two pieces lettuce.$10 for a few bites. Wagyu A5 Filet Mignon was just okay, we don't feel satisfied enough. The worst is skirt steak definitely. Service was good, not much to say. Paid a healthy 28% for it.

One of the best Steakhouses I have ever been to and one of my favorite restaurants. When many steakhouses are cheap and cut corners, Selanne's does a fantastic job. The steak, sides and dessert we all Fantastic. Highly recommended.

Perfect spot for a special date night, anniversary, or celebration! This place is definitely worth every penny, from ambiance to culinary adventure. Next to Mozambique, it’s very easy to miss this restaurant. They did a fantastic job at creating a secluded, private environment on the busy coast of Laguna Beach. The cute cottage building, twinkling lights, and boxwood borders is something out of a fairytale! Matched with exceptional hospitality from the staff, it is truly a wine and dine experience. I have been to quite a few $$$ restaurants. So from my past experiences eating at expensive steak houses, I expected to pay an astronomical bill and leave hungry. This most definitely was not the case. Now, their portions aren’t necessarily family style but after three decadent courses, I couldn’t eat another bite if I tried. Don’t get my wrong, it was certainly pricey… but for special occasions, your money is best spent here. We started off the evening with a glass of Daou Cabernet Sauvignon and the Pacific Driver Scallops. The wine paired with everything we ordered, and the scallops were juicy and savory. For the main course we had the 14oz Ribeye and the Nordic Blu Salmon, with a side of Truffle Risotto. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the salmon was crispy on top and so buttery on the inside it practically melted in your mouth. Truly one of the best fish dishes I have had in a while. Just as we thought we couldn’t possible eat another bite, the dessert menu came. We decided on the Cinnamon Walnut Monkey Bread and a glass of the Smoke ‘n’ Fashion. From appetizers to desserts, Selanne Steak Taven knocks it out of the park! Can’t wait to spend my next celebratory meal here.

Brought a friend here that was visiting over the weekend since I hadn’t been back since covid. Their wine list had changed but we enjoyed a wonderful Ken Wright Pinot Noir from Oregon that they served by he glass. We were not too hungry so we choose to split that shrimp and scallops appetizers. Their scallops have always been outstanding and are still my favorite in all of Orange County. Justin the bartender provided the best service and overall we had a very delightful evening.

No. French75 closed down and Selanne took over. Still a steak place but prices are much higher.
Our corkage fee is $25 per 750ml, $50 per Magnum
Semi dressy, you can wear nice jeans and a button up dress shirt for brunch, you can go up a little notch for dinner. But by no means black tie or suit
$100-150 but it's 100% worth it.
No.there is valet in back alley
I agree with all of the other reviewers, the price is equivalent to any other top tier Steakhouse (compare to Mastro's) but the quality and the service is amazing! I'd rank it price wise as $$$ but we usually dine with a five or six course chef's choice meal depending on how hungry everyone is that night and that runs between $125 to $200 pp. At the upper end it will include wagyu A5 course, a seafood course and a rack of lamb course. Valet parking is available around the back... Go down Mountain street to the alleyway... It's a lot easier than finding parking on the street (unless it's really early) and if you decide to Uber home they will keep your car overnight. Great place, highly recommend!
You have to go to the side building of tb e restaurant and buy. If looking at Restaurant, it's on the left. Small shop. They also sell memorabilia, cups, baked goods etc.
