I was encouraged to join this gym since my cousin goes to it and absolutely loves it. She wouldn’t stop raving about it so i decided to give it a try. When i went in for the first time the manager was super welcoming and the hype was great. I had already done my research prior to going to in and mind you this was a big leap for me given i was at the time a member of a $10/month gym. I signed up and even purchased the band I was told was needed costing me an addition near $150. Due to a health issue I have not been able to return to the gym since my last visit in September. I didn’t cancel hopeful to return soon. With each passing month the near $200/monthly membership has been charged to my card. It bothered me that I was paying for something I wasn’t using but I again was hopeful to return soon. Today after my Doctors visit it was clear that returning was not in the absolute near future and as we all know times are not the greatest during this pandemic. I realized it was best to cancel and rejoin once ready. I called the location and was told that due to policy I will be billed once more and then I will be officially cancelled and no more charges. I spoke to the assistant manager, who was extremely kind and honest. He said he didn’t have access to override that and I requested to speak to the manager, who was the person I originally signed up with, the assistant manager said he wasn’t in but would gladly call to see what could be done. He promised me a call back. The assistant managed called me back within five minutes and told me that the manager said he couldn’t waive the last months charge. I explained my situation and got the answer that the owners got strict and are no longer allowing waiving last month. When I think back to the enthusiastic state I was in the first time I walked through the doors to this place, this feeling is so disgusting to know that whoever the “higher ups” are cannot waiver from their policy for someone who has been paying monthly fees without a question for near a year and hardly stepped in the facility for the last 7 months. I am so disappointed, discouraged and just disgusted. You would think they would review case by case, you completely benefited off of me not coming to the gym yet getting full payment for all these months, I asked to cancel and told still will be charged , smh

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Orange Theory Northridge! I'm a retired athlete who struggled to get back into working out. I hated going to a regular gym and figuring out my own routine. From the very first time I walked into OTF I knew this was the place for me! From the coaches/front desk associates being AMAZING to the workouts being intense. It brought back the competitiveness that I needed to get back into shape. OTF Northridge is just overall an amazing experience!!!

If you’ve already been doing Orangetheory and become pregnant, check with your doctor first. Our heart rate monitoring is a perfect way to keep an eye on your intensity as you progress through your pregnancy. If you are a few months into your pregnancy and haven’t been doing any sort of fitness training, wait until after you have your baby and we can help get you back into shape!
Absolutely. Our coaches are trained to provide options for each exercise on the floor, in addition to offering a low-impact bike and strider alternative in place of the treadmill for lower body injuries or orthopedic restrictions.
Of course. Orangetheory is geared toward ALL levels of fitness and everyone is free and encouraged to go at their own pace. We recommend trying a free introductory workout, then discussing any thoughts or questions you may have regarding your fitness goals, with your coach.
Splat Points indicate minutes spent in the orange and red zones. Aim for 12 or more Splat Points per class.
Orangetheory is 5 Zone heart rate based interval training using specifically designed and timed interval training blocks. During a workout, members focus on Zones 3, 4 and 5. The workouts are designed to produce 12 minutes or more in Zones 4 & 5 combined (to achieve the after burn) during the treadmill training portion of the workout.
We’ll ask that you arrive no more than 15 minutes before workout and avoid congregating in the lobby.

Our workout room has a variety of equipment including treadmills (bikes and striders as alternatives), WaterRowers, and floor equipment including dumbbells, benches, TRX suspension trainers, medicine balls, BOSU trainers and AB Dollys.
Orangetheory is a 1-hour, full body workout, focused on training to build endurance, strength and power. We use heart rate-based interval training, which burns more calories post-workout than traditional exercise. When wearing our heart rate monitors, your real-time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual heart rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. To top it off, our fitness coaches lead the workout to prevent you from overtraining or undertraining.
OTbeat™ is our exclusive heart rate monitoring technology. Members have the unique experience of seeing real-time data during their workout, enabling them to push themselves to new limits. After class, they can then monitor their improvements through emailed results and by using the Orangetheory Fitness app.
