Love everything about this campground, it is so pretty and peaceful. The host are so friendly and helpful. I didn't use the shower house so I can't rate that. Thankfully the racoons population has decreased drastically since the last time I was there in 2019. I only gave it a 4 star because the cell phone signal and TV antenna signal is virtually non existent

Mike and Peggy are truly hospitable and great hosts. The shower houses are well maintained, the grounds are also well maintained, and the trails are fun and give you a scenic hike. This place is outstanding!!!

Really a nice, secluded location. Not a "bad" site in the place. Sites are nicely divided, shaded and level. Shower house is really nice, rest of facility is very well maintained. Water was a little low this weekend, however still fishable. We will be back again soon.

The main user areas of the preserve close at dusk. For dark sky viewing, please use our viewing area located at the North Waterfowl viewing platform. Address is: 2554 County Road 3500 N. Penfield Il 61862. This area is open 24/7.
The beach area is closed

Ya,I'm not for sure when and if anyone is gonna be able to swim in that part of middle fork but we swam in a different part of the whole place
I can't remember how much it costs other than it's reasonable for camping. The reserveamerica.com might be able to help you.
