After a relaxing sail boat cruise we ended up at Crab Claw. This is the place for crab lovers. The atmosphere is very casual as you dine from picnic tables. Due to allergies, I can not eat crabs. However, I witness the experience from surrounding tables. The staff lays out the paper table cloth and the patrons dig in for a crab fest. I had the Rock Fish and chips, it was very good. My drink of choice was the Crab Claw draft on tap. It was very good. I recommend the Crab Claw when visiting historical St Michaels.

Good food at a reasonable price for a tourist trap. Service was slower than in past years as the waitress engaged in extensive conversations with one table - friends or relatives? The crab cake was really good, but not the best. The rockfish fish and chips was nicely prepared and presented, but I now know I prefer cod. There is a lot of outdoor seating right on the water with shelter from the sun/rain, and probably some indoor seating but I have never tried it. The ambiance is old fashioned crab shack - very basic. We always go there because it is right outside the Maritime Museum and there is good parking.

Iconic. My family has been enjoying The Crab Claw for 45 years! Visiting on our boat back in the '70s,' 80s & '90s and eating hundreds of crabs here over the years. One of my classic favorites is the Fried Hard Crab. We return to visit by land now but you can never beat sitting by the waters of Chesapeake Bay, Miles River specifically, and enjoying fresh-caught Eastern Shore seafood!

We waited over an hour for an order of hush puppies and chicken sandwich for my son and daughter. I ordered half dozen of large crabs to start with to see if they were any good. The six crabs they brought were super light and three were small and medium not even close to large size. The crabs were $11 each. I asked the manager to replace the crabs with larger size but they don't do that but he obliged to take the three crabs of the bill. I think for the price for the crabs we should have gotten what we paid for.
